Denpasar – Emirates’ flagship A380 has achieved a milestone as it made a landmark touchdown at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport earlier this month and became the first-ever scheduled A380 service to Indonesia. DOHA, Qatar – Qatar Airways resumed a scheduled non-stop service between Tokyo International Airport ("Haneda") and Hamad International Airport, on 1 June 2023. Qatar Airways operate its state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 aircraft, equipped with 36 award-winning Qsuite Business Class seats and 247 Economy Class seats. May was the second consecutive month during which more than 700,000 passengers were welcomed at Malta International Airport. Registering an increase of 7.7 percent over the same month in 2019, May traffic amounted to 726,299 passenger movements. While seat capacity increased by 4.3 percent compared to 2019, the average seat load factor (SLF) gained 2.7 percentage points over the reference year to reach 82.9 percent....

Schiphol is working with baggage handling companies to test two new technologies aimed at improving the work of employees in the baggage handling hall. One of the trials is with a robot developed especially for Schiphol that lifts suitcases instead of a baggage worker doing it. Brussels: The air traffic report for April 2023 released by European airport trade body ACI EUROPE shows passenger traffic made further gains towards a full recovery but with wide performance divergence across the continent. Passenger traffic in the European airport network grew by +21.1% in April compared to the same month last year. Guangzhou, China: The World Travel & Tourism Council’s (WTTC) 2023 Economic Impact Research (EIR) today reveals China’s Travel & Tourism sector’s GDP contribution is forecast to grow more than 150% this year. The sector is set to contribute CNY 9.9TN to the economy this year, edging closer to the 2019 pre-pandemic high of CNY 12.27TN. Despite the effects of the pandemic spanning into 2022 in China, WTTC is forecasting the sector to create almost 11.5MN jobs this year, recovering one in two of the jobs lost to reach 74.7MN....
