That is a huge question that I think with a lot of parts that are tied to the individual, but
1. Focus. Once you decide affiliate marketing is your choice of business model, focus only on that. Don't allow yourself to get distracted by other models like dropshipping, Amazon FBA, Print on Demand, etc.
The second part of focus is on the steps. Pick one mentor to teach you, because listening to multiple voices usually leads to not hearing any of them properly. Also, different people's steps don't always mesh well together, so they prevent success instead of bringing it.
2. Consistency. Once you start to create content, be consistent, not only with each day posting it, but also with your messaging. Don't confuse your audience. Also, be consistent with who your audience is, trying to sell to everyone often leads to selling to no one.
3. Follow through. When you say you are going to do something, in all your power, make sure it gets done. It is hard to build trust, but it is easy to lose it.
4. Perseverance. We all find success at different times. We learn at our own pace, we improve at our own pace, we find better things at our own pace, and we will find success at different paces because of this. Find the right steps and then stick to them.
Obviously, there are a lot of things that when specific questions are asked you can get more clarity on specifics, but these are broad answers that fit any specific as a jumping off point.
