SAVE this for your first ever or next long haul flight 👀 you’ll thank me later!
Long-haul flights can be a grueling experience, I remember prepping for my flight from New York City to New Zealand, and being seriously worried about how I was going to survive. Luckily there was a short break in between in Los Angeles but I still had a 13 hour flight after already flying 6 hours. 🙃
However, with a little preparation, you can significantly enhance your comfort and overall journey. Let’s dive into some common things to avoid 👇🏼
🍔 Skip the heavy meal
Opt for lighter meal before your flight to avoid feeling bloated and uncomfortable during the journey.
💧 Hydration is key
Dehydration can exacerbate jet lag and discomfort. Drink plenty of water throughout your flight. I always carry some type of hydration stick or drink with me!
🍷 Limit alcohol consumption
Alcohol can dehydrate you, disrupt sleep patterns, and worsen jet lag symptoms. Some people swear by drinking a glass or two to help them sleep… but it just doesn’t work for me.
🚶♀️Limited movement
Walking around before boarding and during the flight makes all the difference. It can help your muscles and reduce the risk of blood clots! Also wear those compression socks!!
🎒Don’t overpack your personal item
Keep only the essentials in your personal item so they’re always easy to find and within reach. Let me know if you’d like to see what I always bring in my personal item for flights 🙂
Remember, a little planning can go a long way in making your long-haul flight more enjoyable. Tag a friend who needs these tips! ✈️

You know the feeling - you plan for epic mountain views, you book the activity or hike, and then... fog rolls in. Yep, that was me for the Banff Gondola! 😩🚠
Here’s the honest truth: sometimes, the travel plans don’t go as planned because of timing, weather, or outside circumstances out of your control.
But plot twist! The fog eventually cleared, revealing the views everyone raves about - snow-capped peaks stretching as far as the eye can see and the turquoise of Lake Minnewanka below. Which I was super thrilled about! So there’s always hope!
REVIEW: Is the Banff Gondola worth it? 100% 👇🏼
Here’s the scoop:
🏔️The Views: Once the fog cleared, the panorama was truly amazing between mountains, lakes, and trees. You can see for miles.
👀 The Experience: The gondola ride itself is smooth and scenic and honestly a bit scary, and there’s a viewing platform at the top with interpretive signs to help you identify landmarks. I think they have it all covered when it comes to experience.
💰The Price: The gondola ticket isn’t the cheapest, but if you factor in the incredible views and ease of access, it’s a worthwhile for wanting the quick adventure (especially on a clear day!). You can, however, choose to hike up instead and enjoy the views for free!
Have you conquered the Banff Gondola? 🙋🏼♀️

The Little Beehive hike is a MUST for epic views and a challenging (but rewarding!) experience.
Heres the info:
🥾Distance: 3.6 km round trip (2.2 miles)
⭐️ Elevation Gain: 320 meters (1050 feet) - not for the faint of heart, but the views are incredible!
🐝 History: Named for its resemblance to a beehive from afar, this hike was once a local secret. Now, it’s a popular challenge for outdoor enthusiasts.
Tips to follow:
1️⃣ Go Early: Sunrise or early morning is ideal to avoid crowds and capture stunning light for photos.
2️⃣ Pack Smart: Bring plenty of water, snacks, and layers. The weather can change quickly in the mountains.
3️⃣ Wear Proper Footwear: Sturdy hiking boots with good ankle support are essential for the rocky terrain.
4️⃣ Respect the Wildlife: You might encounter bears or marmots on the trail. Be bear aware and carry bear spray.
5️⃣ Take Your Time: Enjoy the journey! The hike offers stunning views of Lake Louise, the surrounding mountains, and the Bow Valley.

me & my love. when in doubt always travel ✈️💕
i fell in love with traveling back in 2016 when I studied abroad in Florence, Italy, but when the travel bug really hit me after a bad accident I was in during 2019. i realized time is short, the world is wide, and i don’t want to have any regrets…
but then the world stopped from 2020 into the start of 2021. immediately after all travel bans were lifted i finally made it back to the world in summer of 2022.
since that solo trip to London & Scotland in summer of 2022, i’ve been NONSTOP and that was definitely amplified by getting a fully remote job 😅
what is your travel story? when did the bug bite you? share below! 👇🏼

Share this with someone you’d LOVE to visit the Algarve with! ☀️🇵🇹
Dreaming of sun-soaked beaches, charming towns, and delicious seafood? The Algarve in Portugal has it all! Seriously!! But before you book your flight, here are some travel tips to make your Portugal adventure *hopefully* stress free:
☀️ First off, the beaches are absolutely INCREDIBLE! However, don’t miss historic towns like Faro, Ferragudo, and Lagos, where you can discover hidden coves or go dolphin watching!
🚗 While renting a car gives you the most flexibility, the Algarve has a good public bus system and access to Uber and Bolt as well. If you stay in Lagos, most beaches are in walking distance too!
👀 The Algarve gets crowded in summer. Shoulder seasons (spring and fall) offer comfortable temperatures, fewer crowds, and potentially better deals on accommodation. You can also save big on places to stay, with many slashing their high-season rates by 30% OR MORE!!
⏰ After you decide location, book accommodations, restaurant reservations, and activities in advance! Even with the growing number of both, the places get fairly booked up quickly, so my recommendation is a couple months beforehand.
🧳 I screwed up thinking it was going to be beautiful and warm the whole time I was here. At night, even in summers, it can get pretty chilly so make sure to bring some light layers! Also, Portuguese tend to dress up a bit at nicer places for dinner so bring a few smart-casual pieces!
Is the Algarve on your bucket list? 👇🏼

Mexico City Must-Knows! 🇲🇽 (📌Save this for later!)
Here’s the lowdown on things I wish I knew before 👇🏼
🕳️ The amount of bumps, cracks, and holes in the sidewalks here are a bit insane. However, nothing you can’t do without paying attention and wearing good comfortable shoes.
🏔️ Mexico City sits high - around 2,200 meters (7,500 ft)! Take it slow your first day to avoid altitude sickness. Hydrate, don’t push yourself too hard, and maybe pack some dramamine.
🗑️ One of the most frustrating things I noticed was that garage cans can be scarce in some areas. A tip is to always have a small bag to hold your trash until you find a designated bin.
🚗 I thought NYC traffic was rough.... But Mexico City is even worse. Make sure to leave wherever you’re going 10-20 minutes ahead of time! Also, Uber and Didi are super affordable and probably the safest option (check license plates before getting in the car!)
☀️ Mexico City weather can be unpredictable. Bring layers and a rain jacket so you’re prepared for both sunshine and potential rain showers.
🗣️ Knowing some basic Spanish goes a long way. Even “gracias” (thank you) and “por favor” (please) will be appreciated by locals. I noticed a bit of a struggle with the language gap so I’d be sure to try and brush up a bit more than basic if you can.
With a little planning, you’ll have an unforgettable adventure. What shocked you the most about Mexico City? 🫣
