Pop Smoke: Young, Black & Gifted
This week the world was shaken once more at the news of 20 year old rapper Pop Smoke’s Los Angeles home invasion that resulted in his murder.
The aspiring rapper had recently released his album, Meet The Woo, in July of 2019 and had been reaching for his near peak in the music world.
There has been recent social media activity that has surfaced including a user who allegedly enabled the crime by giving the address (that was actually posted to Pop Smoke’s social media the previous day) out to the ones who carried out the invasion. Regardless of the circumstances and motives, what we can take out of this is it was an act that affected lives of people beyond those involved.
We pride ourselves off of sharing positivity, so rather than this being a mourning post, it’s a celebration of a life that had an impact and a message to the world to be a little bit more empathetic and instead of living life through bitter lenses and jealousy, this is a reminder to use those initial feelings as motivation to further achieve your aspirations.
Life is not a race, and even if it was, how can you win if your focus is on your opponent?
