Are you Hurting Yourself??

Did you know that so many people do worse to themself with what brought them pain, discomfort, and misfortune - causing themselves further damage ⁉️

I was recently having a conversation with a friend who is telling me about a 50 yr/o female neighbour of theirs, whose husband is from Nigeria but resides in Canada. The said lady/neighbour, had been married since age 35 - The woman lives in some small town near Lagos; and barely has a meaningful source of livelihood. Although, she may be getting financial supported from the said husband.
This woman has no children with/for the man yet and is not joined together with her husband in Canada. In fact, it is g*thered that the one time that the woman was invited abroad by her husband, she had to travel from Nigeria to meet him in the US - while he travelled from Canada to come spend time together in the US and both, had returned back to them various residential locations afterwards.

A quick recap:
Married 15yrs, seen husband once abroad; sees husband once every two years; as he makes regular visits to Nigeria in the 5yr period of their marriage to see her - the woman has no kids of her own, not before the marriage nor within the marriage. The husband may or may not have a family in Canada - the wife who is in Nigeria do not know what hubby has going-on in Canada as she has never been to Canada but US where they had met up sometime along their 15yrs union. 😕

My submission:
It is pathetic to watch grownups destabilize themselves with what destabilizes them. You do not have to further leave yourself at a disadvantage over what has already happened to you or is happening to you! And you do not leave yourself at the mercy of others.

In conclusion:
Don't do worse harm to yourself than what may have unfortunately happened to you. Or how do you explain your "ship" when it is not "relatable"?? How do people get into situationships and lose themselves?? At 50, you do not make a reasonable income to provide for your need; you are not settled into your fifteen year-long marriage; you do not have a child; and you cannot fully attest to what your hubby's relationship/family status in Canada is?

Are people okay like this?

See, we have to make a conscious effort to be kinder to ourselves as people. We have to measure what we are losing in the hopes of gaining... And we g*t to realize that in certain circumstances, letting go is Winning 🏆🥇🎖
