Kaltura's β€œState of Virtual Events 2022” surveyed 1,250-plus organizers and attendees through an independent and randomized study. They found that while virtual-only was the strategy for 25% of organizations in 2021, a hybrid approach was ultimately more popular in 2022, at 67%. On the attendee side, although only 45% of people had attended a virtual event prior to the pandemic, that number has since increased by over 93%.

According to Pew Research, "[The] yearning for convenience and safety fuels reliance on digital tools. . . . The pandemic has rearranged incentives so that consumers will be more willing to seek out smart gadgets, apps and systems. This will speed up adoption of new education and learning platforms, rearrange work patterns and workplaces, change family life and upend living arrangements and community structures." In the aftermath of the global pandemic, experts predict people will develop even greater reliance on swiftly evolving digital tools, evidence of which will be readily apparent as soon as 2025.
