A press package is promotional material submitted to record executives that details a brief summary of the artist/group. When submitting your press package for review, please include the following materials:
A clear, crisp 8x10 photo with artist/band name and contact info (photo should
be simple and represent the artist’s music. This will assist the music audience with identifying the genre of music. Lyrics to the songs on your tape/CD (stapled together in sequence). A list of all members in the band/group: identify what instrument or role they play in the group. (no need to mention where persons are from or how long the group has been together)
If you have three or four direct quotes from some very reputable people in the business--managers, producers, artists--include them on a separate quote sheet, but be sure to attribute them correctly. Professional business card from your manager or representative. Include your demo tape/CD
Cover letter with every package explaining why you're sending it: written by the artist’s manager, attorney or band leader. Letter should be short, to the point, and very professional. It should explain, in a few paragraphs, who you are, why you sent the package and what you expect. Please keep in mind Quest Digital reviews many submissions daily and the press packages are reviewed in the order received.
