A groundbreaking study published in Thyroid®, the official journal of the American Thyroid Association®, finds no evidence linking GLP1 receptor agonists (GLP1-RAs)—widely used for treating type 2 diabetes and obesity—to an increased risk of thyroid cancer.
🔬 This large-scale study, led by Professor Anton Pottegård (Syddansk Universitet – University of Southern Denmark), analyzed data from over 92,000 GLP1-RA users across six countries, providing critical reassurance about the short-term safety of these medications.
