The story of the Embassy
The Embassy began in 2014 as an art installation funded by The Museum of Old and New Art in a New Orleans 8th Ward car wash during art triennial, Prospect.3. In response to its popularity, MONA moved the studio to a larger location nearby in the 9th ward and provided ongoing funding. The recording studio now provides free access to producers and studio time to twelve emerging artists who, over an eight-month period, create full albums and attend workshops with music business professionals. We are ever expanding and refining, and can proudly say that we have created an exciting musical community.
