Our facility is located just blocks from beautiful New Orleans City Park in Navarre Neighborhood, a hidden gem sitting between Lakeview and Mid-City. With amazing restaurants from a few steps to a few blocks away. At Southern Sound Services, we specialize in voice recording for your project including (but not limited to) ADR, voiceover, narration, interviews, audiobooks, podcasts, and commentary.

We handle your project using highly experienced engineers who are not satisfied until you are. Our stage can connect to people and studios around the world via Source Connect, Skype, and Phone Patch, even combine all three for multiple parties. We also offer full sound design, sound editing, and sound mix packages. With our extensive sound effects and music libraries, and many years of experience in film sound, we can handle sound post for a 15-second advertisement, a full feature film, and everything in between. Our engineer Billy Theriot is highly experienced in recording ADR, voiceover as well as sound editorial and mixing. For 11 years he engineered hundreds of ADR and voiceover sessions at Swelltone Labs in New Orleans. Among the many sessions, he was the ADR mixer/recordist on every episode of the critically-acclaimed HBO series Treme. And the ADR mixer/recordist for the Academy Award best picture nominee Beasts of the Southern Wild, where he was nominated for the Best Sound Editing: Dialogue and ADR in a Feature Film for the 2013 MPSE Golden Reel Awards. Now here at Southern Sound Services, he can use his expertise to accommodate your recording needs. Billy's sound effects, Foley and dialog editing credits include more than 45 feature films, documentaries, and television series. Among those, he has been a Foley and sound effects editor on all of Academy Award-winning Steven Soderbergh's films from 2005 to 2017 including Behind The Candelabra for HBO which won 11 Emmys including best sound mixing. He also has extensive experience in every aspect of post sound from turnover through the final mix and M&E, including all versions for final delivery.

Looking for a male voiceover artist that can do a Spanish language promo for a product. Client is looking for a soap opera/theatrical type read. Must be able to communicate in English, do the read in Spanish, and be able to take instruction. If you are not located in New Orleans or close enough to come to my studio to record you can use yours or another studio although it must have Source Connect for us to communicate and for me to record the session. Pay is a good rate but does not include studio use. We can discuss those details in messaging. If interested please message me with a demo that I can download and send to client for approval.

Southern Sound Services is on the SAG-AFTRA "Approval List of Facilities" for COVID-19 procedures. There is HEPA MERV 13 rated filtering on the studio HVAC. Also, 2 separate true HEPA air purifiers that filter to .3 microns are in the control room and the booth that are capable of filtering the air in the room 4 times an hour.

In accordance with COVID-19 precautions, I ask that anyone entering the building wear a face mask and keep at least 6 feet apart when possible. Anyone in the same room must continue to wear a mask. Once talent is alone in the booth they can remove their mask for the session. All surface areas are wiped down with disinfecting wipes and also sprayed with disinfectant before and after sessions. Hand sanitizer will be provided and a restroom is available to wash hands. An hour is scheduled between sessions for thorough cleaning and time for the disinfectant to properly dry and the true HEPA air purifiers to completely filter the air in the rooms.

Do you currently have or have had a fever in the last 72 hours?
Do you have a new cough or recent cough that has become worse?
Do you have shortness of breath or difficulty breathing that started recently?
Have you had a new loss of taste or smell?

If you answer yes to any of these questions we ask that you do not enter the building. We can provide remote listening and communication through phone patch, Skype, Zoom, or Source Connect if needed. Any fees for remote services, if needed for COVID-19 precautions, will be waved.
