It’s safe to say a storm will be in the Gulf next week. However, storms in the development stage are tough to figure out which creates huge run-to-run variability with the models. The main reason is the starting line changes each time the model is run. Notice below. Without a storm center, the model guesses at the center and it never gets it perfectly right. Here's a drone shot of flood waters along the Tchefuncte River in St. Tammany Parish that are now receding. River levels there are expected to continue dropping throughout the day.

In Kenner, people who flooded by the Tulane Drive canal caught the fish that swam into the streets and are preparing them for dinner. People say cleaning up after Hurricane Francine has been a tough morning, but they’re trying to stay positive.

On Tulane Drive in Kenner, folks are vacuuming out cars and gutting furniture after a canal just behind the neighborhood overflowed during Hurricane Francine. They say the flooding has never been this bad, even during Ida.

US 51 at I-10 in LaPlace. A lot of people are chancing it and driving through the flood water. Several vehicles are also stalled out in the area.

Williams Boulevard in Kenner is open again with no more excessive flooding

Not all heroes wear capes. One New Orleans East business owner says he constantly has to come out after storms to manually unclog catch basins to prevent his business from flooding. Here, he is doing so after Francine to relieve an inundated Chef Hwy.

A Kenner Police high-water vehicle goes down Loyola Ave. toward University City. A nearby canal overfilled with rainwater from Francine.

University City in Kenner is underwater. The nearby canal overflowed and water is now in homes and cars. Parish officials don’t know when the water will completely drain out.

Several parking lots along Airline Highway in LaPlace are flooded.

Flooding on Gause Blvd. by Slidell Memorial Hospital

The canal along I-10 near the Veterans exit in Metairie overflowed onto the highway. Water has also crept into the nearby car dealership, apartment complex and businesses. Don’t be on the roads if you don’t have to be.
