Thanks to all who came out to the 2nd Splash Bash of the summer of 2024. I tried something a little different tonight and hope you enjoyed the music selections. Thank you to N.M. N.M. Parks does a wonderful job improving and maintaining our parks. They are always doing something for the citizens and I consider our parks the jewels of the crown of Parlor City. I'm thankful to be included in those activities. The first Splash Bash of 2024 is in the books. The next one is on Friday, July 12 at 7:30pm. Hope to see you there!

I had a great time entertaining the students of Tyler Consolidated High School at their Prom at the Barn at Woodridge. I hope they had as much fun as I did and wish them all safe travels home!

The Taylor Swift Block Party was a great success! We lead busy lives, but when I can, I like to do nice things for our community. All of the people that came together to provide a few hours of happiness warms my heart! This is the Small Town USA I want to live in. It is up to each of us to do the things that we can to improve our communities for our children and ourselves.

When I started this thing 8 or so years ago it was because of the compliments I received on my speaking voice. I started to think it was something I could do professionally as I stood at center court at the Valley High School gym for their Pep Rallies. Then, with my large collection and love for music I thought I could put it to use for school dances, association banquets and weddings. It's been an adventure!
From my first moment introducing Grammy Award winners on stage at Back Home Festival, many weddings, pool parties, proms, and local events up to and including last night at the Wetzel County Idol Finale, I've always had a touch of doubt of how I ended up here. However, I'm starting to feel like I may actually belong in this role!
I know I'll make mistakes, but I also know that we are all human and just want to have fun and do the best we can do. Thank you to Back Home Festival, N.M. Parks, local schools, and all of the brides and grooms that have put your trust in me to ensure your event goes off without a hitch. Onward and Upward!

You do NOT want to miss the Grand Finale of the inaugural Wetzel County Idol competition! Jakob Barrows, Justin Bucher, Talan Chambers, and Moon King will battle it out on Friday, March 15th for a cash prize of $3,000 and a set at the 2024 Back Home Festival! There will also be some surprise performances throughout the evening. The band Bucket of Puppies will serve as the backing band for the contestants. It has been another great weekend working with N.M. Parks for the Mother/Son Dance and Daddy/Daughter Dance. My favorite annual event because I get to share it with my family! DJ Jayda assisted with lights and provided a set of music that the crowd loved! Thanks to Pop Arts Parties and Frannie Herrick along with the volunteers and New Martinsville Parks and Recreation for providing these fun nights to our community!

If you weren't in the audience for the semi-finals for Wetzel County Idol tonight you missed some amazing performances. There were 10 great artists and 20 great songs. If the near sell out crowd was any indicator, you might get advanced tickets for the finals on March 15th. Congratulations to finalists: Moon King, Jakob Barrows, Justin Bucher, and Talan Chambers!

So many great performances tonight at the very first Wetzel County Idol! As the emcee I shouldn't pick favorites, but I will say the judges got the golden tickets to the semi-finals right!

I always bring the canopy when there is a slight chance of rain with the thinking that if I bring it, then I won't need it. Today wasn't one of those days. However, the clouds parted as the ceremony began and Jeremy and Kristen Cecil had the opportunity to renew their vows after ten wonderful years of marriage. We went on to have a wonderful evening with one of the most unique Grand Entrances of my career as a wedding DJ. The whole wedding party came in dressed in inflatable chicken costumes! Thanks for letting me entertain your guests on this special day!

On many occasions I fail to take any pictures at weddings. I have a lot going on and I figure the professionals can handle that part of the day. However, today I just had to snap a quick photo of Kale and Autumn as they shared a private dance surrounded by a beautiful pond at the end of their evening. The song: In Your Love by Tyler Childers. It was very nice to see so many familiar faces and to work my first event at the Farmers Daughter and Sons Wedding venue in Marietta, Ohio. I wish Autumn and Kale many years of happiness and adventures!

It really makes me proud to know that I continue to serve as "The Voice of the Back Home Festival." It has just been declared the Best Fair/Festival in West Virginia for 2022! A lot of people devote thousands of hours to this magical weekend all year long just to provide a great experience for those living here or those visiting. We want you to come !

The Back Home Festival in New Martinsville, has been voted the top fair, festival, or event in the entirety of West Virginia by WV Living Magazine.

I had turned down several events for today because my daughter was celebrating her 9th birthday and I didn't want to miss it. Turns out, she wanted to book me for her birthday party! In a few more years, I hope to turn over the reigns of this business to my kids if they are interested. So far, Jayda has shown the most interest, as she has covered the decks for sets at the annual Daddy/Daughter Dance and takes it very seriously. It was a fun time and I wish I had a fraction of the energy of these 3rd graders!

Due to inclement weather, the Splash Bash scheduled for today at Lewis Wetzel Pool has been cancelled. I had a wonderful time this summer at the pool and can't wait until next summer to do it again! Thanks to all lifeguards and employees of N.M. Parks and Recreation for providing these fun opportunities to all of the children of our community!

I had a great time rockin' the pool this evening! The weather was perfect and the crowd looked to be having a blast! Thanks to N.M. Parks and Rec for giving me this opportunity to DJ the first of 4 Splash Bashes this summer of '22! Can't wait for the next one on July 8th. It's an adult only Splash Bash! It was a beautiful day for a wedding reception at the Sistersville Country Club. It may have been warmer than I would prefer, but everything went well and it rained just long enough to cool down.
