New London has quite the conundrum when it comes to parking one's automotive conveyance. I understand it's like mooring one's zeppelin, only more earthbound.

On the one hand, we want enough capacity to welcome visitors. Of course, a citation for exceeding two hours' stay might drive these folks off more swiftly than Oliver Lewis drove Aristides!

Mayhap a compromise is in order? Say we place a "parking meter" in the municipal lot, with no pecuniary charge for two hours. Motorists wishing to stay longer, however, could pay a certain fee. Municipal revenue and no ticket angst; everything's jake!
