“I’ll plant till my last breath.” - Padma Shri Jadav "Molai" Payeng

Padma Shri awardee Jadhav Payeng also known as "Forest man of India", at the age of 16 experienced death of snakes in large numbers due to excessive heat after floods washed them onto the sandbar initiated him to plant around 20 bamboo seedlings on the sandbar of the Brahmaputra river.

Jadhav Payeng turned infertile place where there is 550 hectares (more than 1300 sections of land) into a lavish green timberland without anyone else. It took more than 30 years for the land to transform into a forest and Jadav is defensive about it. He began planting in 1979 and keeps doing that even today.

As indicated by natural life specialists the forest presently draws in 80% of the world's transitory birds has been announced by wildlife specialists. It is authoritatively called Molai forest. Local people call it Molai as a recognition for Jadav. He says , "As a child, I was fair and had pink cheeks very much like the colder time of year radish. So my pet name was Mola (radish in the neighborhood language). As I grew up and began establishing trees, individuals began calling it Mola'r haabi (Mola's backwoods). From that point, somebody helpfully made it Molai forest." Jadav, in any case, will not assume acknowledgment. "The birds, cows, deer, wind, water and elephants have helped me."

Payeng's most terrible dread for his forest is deforestation for monetary benefit, which makes the verdure helpless against human ravenousness. He accepts that all species on this planet are creatures, including people, and that people don't understand that moderation and respecting nature is critical to our endurance.

In the meantime a book composed on the life of Jadav Payeng named " The Boy Who Grew A Forest" by Sophia Gholz won the 2021-22 Nile Delta Book grant.

Phil Yoyum 's Mom was diagnosed with Lymphoma in Spine ( Stage 4 spinal cancer in simple words).

Lymphoma in Spine D11 vertebrae and it spread through out spleen, surgery was done for D11 in NEM Care Guwahati in the month of january (2021) and after surgery she was receiving Chemotherapy in TRIMS.

And then came a devastating news that her both kidneys have stopped functioning after (6th Chemo) and doctors refered the family to Apollo Guwahati (presently there)for treatment of NHL stage-IV, Advanced Renal Failure with AKI. She is in ICU at the moment in Appollo hospital, Guwahati.

As family since January they have used all their resources and as traditional sources of funding have dried up. Now they cannot do this alone. With bills mounting up to 1,00,000 every two or three days it's been very difficult for her and her family.
Plus pandemic has not been kind to her business wise.
Someone who is so dedicated and was just making her dreams come true this happened and my heart bleeds for my friend.

Any bit of help will be appreciated. Please, please, please, if you find it in your heart to help them then please do 🙏. I am begging you to help her save her mom’s life. Again, it is beyond her means to repay, and so I would have to ask God to do that for family.

Yaha pr dr.se milne k baad peta chala ki transplant k liye 10-15 lakhs ka karcha hoga.jitna humare pass rupiya tha woh sab hmne gynea operation or dailysis me lega diya tha. Abhi hmare pass itna paisa nahi ho raha hai or jabtak tranplant nahi hota tabtak dailysis is needed & cost of it is 3000-4500 three times a week.
