Marine Myles Kerr Finishes a Race Last to Help a Young Boy Who Got Separated from His Group
In a touching act of kindness, Marine Myles Kerr sacrificed his race time to help a young boy who had gotten separated from his group during a 5K run. Despite being a seasoned runner, Myles noticed the boy struggling and chose to stay by his side, offering encouragement and support until they crossed the finish line together. Though it meant finishing last, Myles demonstrated the true spirit of compassion and selflessness, showing that some races are not about winning but about being there for others when they need it most.

“Tonight, we went out to eat at Cracker Barrel. As we were almost finished, we noticed an elderly woman sitting all alone, drinking a milk and waiting for her meal. A million thoughts went through my mind. She looked so very lonely…Is she widowed? Where is her family? Why is she at a restaurant at almost 8 p.m. (which is stereotypically like midnight in old people time). Also seated next to us were three big, burly, middle-aged, blue collar, hardworking, hungry men. I asked Tom if we should buy her dinner or if we should go sit with her...then one of our boys did/said something which momentarily distracted us but when we looked back up, these big burly guys were moving the frail elderly woman to their table. We continued to watch them interact. The woman was smiling from ear to ear, her face all lit up and she was just a-talking like she hadn’t talked to another human in a very long time. I seriously was choked up, as was Tom. As we left, we left them some money for their meal and Tom thanked them for restoring our faith in humanity...I snapped a picture but really, I will forever remember this moment.”

"My barbershop is located in an old mining town called Rouyn-Noranda in northen Canada. I opened here because there were no other barbershops, only hair salons, which is something completely different. Wyatt showed up with his mother during the first week I was open. He was my first child who had special needs. I figured out how to work with him by getting down to his level. These moments are very special for me. I'm taking great pride barbering here and my community is amazingly supportive towards my shop. People drive up to 4 hours to get a haircut. We usually start by having a candy together and we walk around the shop looking at everything on the walls. The shop is packed with gifts from clients. We can also put some music on vinyl during the haircut. I'm never typically driving the haircut, I simply follow the lead of the child. It takes me more than an hour to finish with a special needs child. It is worth every minute."

Today, I stopped for a quick bite to eat, and while waiting in line, a large group of bikers invited me to cut in front of them. I politely declined, but they insisted. As I walked past them, each one thanked me, shook my hand, and introduced themselves. When I reached the front, they asked if they could say a quick prayer for me, and I offered one for them in return. They even tried to buy my lunch, but I politely refused.

When I got to the counter, the owner told me my meal was on the house. In gratitude, I put all the cash I had into the tip jar. It was such a refreshing change to feel appreciated and respected instead of feared or judged. Thanks for making my day! ❤️

"Something has been bothering me lately. About a month ago I shared a meal with a homeless man while at work. A man who was begging a business not for money but to clean a store for a bottle of water and some food. Some critics believe I was doing it for attention and called it less than professional.
It's apparent that these critics don't know the real me, don't know my past and how life made me who I am. I'm going to let you in on a little secret and maybe you can understand why I am who I am. Not that I have to explain myself but I'm tired of hearing it. At 5 years old my father divorced my mother. He changed my name, hid me from her the best he could just to spite her. I remember when he met my stepmother and she made it very clear she would not raise children who were not her own. I remember shortly after that being taken by the State for my father did not want to lose my stepmother so he gave up his kids.
He told the state I had no living family members. So at 10 years old I was sent to boarding home after boarding home. No one wanted to adopt the 10 year old, they all wanted the new borns. For 6 years I lived in those boarding homes. 10 plus people sleeping in one room, packed in like sardines. Wearing the same 3 outfits I owned all week. I remember not eating for a day, two days or sometimes 3 days.
I remember never celebrating Christmas, no Thanksgiving dinner and never a single birthday celebration. Waking up every day praying for a miracle.
I remember being alone. I remember having no one to turn too. I remember having my back up against the wall and not a single person in my corner.
I became emancipated at 16 years old. I worked 4 part time jobs while I went to high school full time. I learned how hard it was to support myself. I went days without eating sometimes. It was eat 3 meals a day and not have a roof over my head or starve and survive. I turned my emotions into energy and became the man I am today.
So yes I fed a homeless guy and took the time, over an hour to get to know him better. I even took him to CVS to get him Motrin, a toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, shampoo, soap, nail clippers, razors and shaving cream. I also got him some new clothes, new shoes and a jacket. After all of that I got him a roof over his head and worked on helping him to get some cash.
I know what it's like to not know where your next meal is coming from or when it's coming. I know what it feels like to be hungry, weak and desperate. I know what it's like to be down on your luck. I know how it feels when the world has its back turned on you. I know all too well what it's like be overall in a really crappy position in life.
I battled some tough moments since I was 10 years old and raised myself. I did it because I'm human and care for my fellow human beings.

I called a Lyft for the first time in my life to take me to pick my car up from the dealership; halfway into the trip, the Lyft driver got a call through the car regarding his car, and it was out for repo. He took the phone off the car and told the guy he can have it in 2 weeks; well, I've been in his situation before and knew that they didn't want to hear that being the car is already in repo status. I asked him a few questions and decided to call the bank and pay his account current. To see that young man cry like that had me in tears. He didn't ask me for anything! I'm glad I could help him from the bottom of my heart and not for show.
I left him with this: some of the best of us, including me, have been where you are; keep pushing; better is coming.🙏🏽🩵 its a blessing to be a blessing and in a position to help this young man.

I wanted to share something that still makes me smile. I refinished the floors in my 1926 house, but there was a dark stain in the hallway that just would. not. come. out. I stained a darker rectangle, did some stenciling, and made myself a rug! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Adrienne's son was diagnosed with autism at 14 months old. He didn't speak until he was 4, couldn't get through an IQ test to determine if he was ID until 8, struggled with encopresis until he was 12, and dealt with severe gross, small motor, and nervous system delays. She tells us he also had to push past dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, auditory processing disorder, and higher-order language deficits.
This is also the kid who is graduating second/third in his class, is the varsity swim team captain, was being heavily recruited to swim in college, and is taking calculus remotely through a four-year university degree. To top it all off, he was just accepted to his top choice of university last night!
Congrats to him

A coffee shop in Kent, UK. has made the brave decision to only serve customers who bring their own cup to the store, and to illustrate why they are doing this they filled their store floor with disposable cups.

This morning I asked (begged) my daughter to go to Aldi with me. I immediately get the side eye but she reluctantly agrees. We get there and what do I see? All the Christmas stuff marked down. Not just a couple bucks, but LOTS of bucks. I’m not sure if it was the iced coffee that I sucked down in the parking lot or the adrenaline but I was experiencing the AOS markdown shakes. I ran back outside to grab a cart cause SOMEONE told me we didn’t need one and I filled that sucker up like I was on supermarket sweep. As I’m standing there in the middle of the AOS so proud of myself while she’s FaceTiming with her boyfriend making fun of me, I say “I’m gonna do it”. A look of complete horror washes over her face. She says I swear to god mom don’t you…….. YES!!! DO IT. DO IT. DO IT. comes from her phone. Yup, the boyfriend was giving me that first time caw-caw’er push I needed. I puffed my chest and let out the biggest, most amazing caw-caw in the history of the world. It echoed throughout the entire store. I did it. I finally did it! I stood there so proud of myself waiting for someone to caw-caw back at me. Crickets. Freaking crickets. My daughter was mortified most likely wishing she was back at college, her boyfriend was like hell yeah and the woman standing next to me says “was that you? I thought there was a bird in here. You really sounded like a bird!”. 🤦🏻‍♀️
I could have hung my head in shame, but I did not. I grabbed my cart and went to check out, head held high with a bunch of Christmas stuff I probably didn’t need. So, if you were at the Aldi in Collingdale this morning at about 8:30, it was not a bird. It was me. 🙌🏼

EDITED TO ADD:
Oh my lawwwwwd I had no idea this would blow up the way it has. I was like if this makes ten people laugh it’s worth the embarrassment.

Before I posted this I went into her room (it was pretty late), peeled an eyelid back, shoved my phone in her face and said “hey do you care if I post this pic of you?”. I thought

I'm stuck in the van with my toddler. We went out to dinner as a family, and she had a meltdown because mom wouldn't let her throw chicken strips. So she screamed, and screamed, and kicked and kicked, and since I was the only one finished with my meal, I had the pleasure of dragging her out of Red Robin.
I carried her past the bar and everyone stared at me, most of them childless, I assumed. No one with children would give me that straight faced, lip twisted, look that seems to say, "If you can't control your kid, then don't go out."
Well... no. I can't control her.
Not all the time.
Not yet.
It’s going to take years to teach her how to act appropriately in public, and the only way I am ever going to teach that is to take her out and show her what's right and wrong. By saying no a million times, letting her throw a fit, and telling her no again.
These lessons take patience, hard work, and real world experiences, and I’m sorry to those at the bar who got irritated by my child's fit, but you are part of this practice. Your parents did the same with you, and that’s how you now know how to recognize when a child does something irritating in a restaurant. It’s how you learned to look at a situation and say, “That parent needs to control their kids.”
It’s how you learned to be a respectable person.
I get it. Kids are irritating when they are loud in a restaurant. I know. I’m living it. But before you get angry and judgmental, realize that what you are witnessing is not bad parenting, but rather, parents working hard to fix the situation.
You are looking at what it takes to turn a child into a person.

"Just happened to be eating at the Waffle House. Just got my food, phone rang it’s Tim Baker. Answer the phone and take a bite to eat. WRONG. Start choking like seriously choking can’t breathe at all kind of choking. Drop phone stand up and start banging on the counter to get attention. Grab throat to alert them that I am choking. My waiter JAY come rushing around and performed the Heimlich maneuver. Worked perfectly as you can see I am thankfully still alive. To my hero Jay Thank You. Got to give him praise."

Adam, a Canadian man who has been sleeping on the streets of Edmonton, Alberta, first found the piece of art while he was dumpster diving.

He had uncovered a rare and authenticated frame from Disney’s animated film Bambi. After uncovering the illustration, he sold it to Alex Archbold at Commodity Inc. for $20.

It seems that neither Archbold, nor Adam, knew exactly what they had found until the artwork later sold on eBay for $3,700. Instead of keeping the earnings for himself, however, Archbold decided to track down the homeless man and split the earnings. Archbold then embarked on a 3-week search to find Adam, but had no luck.

“Getting him the money was difficult because he has no home and no phone number,” Archbold told CBC. “I took it upon myself to drive around town for a period of two weeks every single morning before work to try and find him. I found two of his friends; they told me that when they saw him next they would tell him to come in. And sure enough, he walked in my door.”

Finally, Adam returned to the shop so he could sell another trinket. Archbold then reminded him of the piece he had previously brought in, and presented the homeless man with a manila envelope filled with $1,600 in cash, plus an extra $100.

Adam, who has been living on the streets for over 3 years, is currently staying in a motel until he can make his way home to London, Ontario so he can reunite with his mother and 4 children. As a means of helping his new friend, Archbold set up a GoFundMe page for Adam; and it has already exceeded its $10,000 goal.

n 2001, Holly Shearer was just a teenager when she gave birth to a baby boy. Unable to take care of him, she had to give him up for adoption.
The baby boy, Benjamin Hulleberg, now 20, had always been curious about his birth mom. He tried to find her several times but had no luck.
Last year, white searching online, Holly stumbled upon Benjamin's page. She sent him a message for his birthday and Benjamin replied. When Holly texted back and explained who she was, his whole world turned upside down.
"This is the day I had been waiting for for the last 20 years of my life and to imagine that it was finally happening was outrageous. It was a lot to take in." Benjamin commented.
The two of them didn't want to wait any longer, so they met the next day. They chatted for a few hours and it turns out they both worked at HCA Healthcare's St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT.
"Being able to sit down with my biological mom and just have coffee and talk before I go on my shift at the NICU? It's been amazing," Benjamin added.
