The Kansas City Chiefs have become the most recent NFL dynasty, and it is due to the absolutely incredible play from the man they have under center.
In a recent article by ESPN, they rank who they believe are the top 25 NFL players since 2000. Despite only being in the league since 2017, Patrick Mahomes is ranked all the way up at No. 2.

The only player that is ahead of the Chiefs' field general is Tom Brady, which is crazy considering that he is widely regarded as the greatest player to ever touch a football. That is just a testament to how dominant Mahomes has been over the last several seasons, and how respected he is amongst his peers.

He has led the Chiefs to three Super Bowl wins in the last five seasons, and he has done so with not the best teams for the last two. He is similar to Brady in the fact that he makes everyone around him better, and that is what has been the driving force behind his team's recent success.

The Chiefs are looking to do what no team has done before and win their third straight Super Bowl. If Mahomes can do that, then he will add to his already very impressive resume.

The Chiefs tight end, who returned to training camp this week after jetting around Europe with his girlfriend Taylor Swift during the off-season, admitted he can be very hard on himself.

'I'm my biggest critic,' he told reporters during a press conference on Saturday.
'Nobody can tell me how bad I did on a play, I know it right away, as soon the play got over with. I know what I need to do to get better and everything,' he continued.

'It's just — you have to have that certain mentality. Always finding ways to get better, even when you have success on a play. If you're a fan of a team in the AFC West that is not the Kansas City Chiefs, you probably haven't had very much fun in a while. The Chiefs have won the division eight straight years, and have won three Super Bowls since Patrick Mahomes took over under center in 2018. It makes them easily detestable for the three other teams required to play them twice a year.

The last time the Chiefs lost to a division rival was actually on Christmas Day, as the Las Vegas Raiders walked into Arrowhead Stadium and pulled off a 20-14 upset victory, thanks to two defensive touchdowns. While the Chiefs did end up winning Super Bowl LVIII, that victory was a big one for the Raiders' fan base.

This week at Raiders training camp, a fan brought a Kermit the Frog puppet complete with a Mahomes wig and jersey. If you were unfamiliar, Mahomes' voice does indeed resemble the lovable green amphibian. Raiders rookie safety Trey Taylor was delighted by the puppet, and put it on -- even having the puppet talk in a fake Mahomes voice.
On Friday after Chiefs practice, Mahomes responded to the Raiders' video clip that's gone viral with a simple quote.

"It's still early in the year, stuff like that happens, "Mahomes said. "It'll get handled when it gets handled."
"Everybody just kinda lets me play. They know how I am. They don't need to send me anything to keep me motivated."

A Raiders fan dressed up a Kermit doll to look like K.C. quarterback Patrick Mahomes -- whose voice has been compared to that of the famous Muppets character. A video of rookie safety Trey Taylor at training camp on Thursday joking with the puppet went viral on social media before being deleted -- but not before Kansas City fans noticed.

Mahomes was asked about the video on Friday.

"Yeah, I mean, it's still early in the year. Stuff like that happens," he said. "It'll get handled when it gets handled."

K.C. heads to Vegas in Week 8 to play the Raiders before hosting their division rival on Black Friday (Nov. 29).

Mahomes said he wasn't sent the video and, most of the time, he's able to just focus on his job.

"No, not really, honestly. Everybody kinda just lets me play. I mean, they know how I am," he said. "They don't need to send me anything to keep me motivated."
Mahomes has tortured the Raiders since taking the league by storm in 2018, going 10-2 against the division rivals with 30 touchdowns to four interceptions and throwing for 3,573 yards in those 12 tilts.

The Raiders, however, are 1-0 against Mahomes and the Chiefs in their last one game (20-14 on Christmas Day 2023).

Las Vegas head coach Antonio Pierce downplayed the incident on Friday.

NFL fans were given shots aplenty of Swift cheering on Kelce from inside stadiums around the US throughout last season, while the Swifties have spotted Kelce at a number of concerts around the world, with Swift continuing his record-breaking and seemingly never ending Eras World Tour.

In the latest Eras show, in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, the singer performed a mashup of 'Stay, Stay, Stay' and 'Paper Rings' during the second part of her set.

The lyrics to 'Paper Rings' state: "I like shiny things, but I'd marry you with paper rings' and 'darling, you're the one I want."

The inclusion of the song in the set sparked mass speculation on social media that Swift is either engaged to Kelce already or that she is telling her boyfriend he should take to his knee in the near future.

Jerry Jones Really Compared Himself to Patrick Mahomes

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones talks a lot.

And when you talk a lot, you’re almost always bound to say something that comes across as rather stupid.

As Michael Scott once famously said, “Sometimes I’ll start a sentence and I don’t even know where it’s going. I just hope I find it along the way.”

Jones found himself in that exact situation on Thursday when discussing the current landscape of difficult contract situations in Dallas.

Jones, whose 81 years of life experience makes him a prime candidate for political office, went on an incoherent mumbling rant, explaining that he’s currently like an option quarterback who has to evaluate all options before making a decision.

“We’re trying to make our mind up on what to do,” Jones said. “Does that sound like Mahomes to you?”
It doesn’t sound like Mahomes at all. And if Jones and Mahomes were both quarterbacks (they’re not, in case you forgot), Mahomes is something that Jones isn’t.

A winner.

Mahomes has three Super Bowl rings at just 28 years old. The Cowboys last Super Bowl win was in 1996. Mahomes was barely one year old. Just another reason why that comparison made no sense.

The contract situations unfolding in Dallas are somewhat mind-boggling. Quarterback Dak Prescott has been leading the Cowboys for nearly a decade now, and they’re still hesitant to commit to him long-term.

While Prescott isn’t on the same tier as Patrick Mahomes or even Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson, franchise quarterbacks don’t grow on trees, and the Cowboys don’t have many other options. Maybe they can pivot to a veteran like Kirk Cousins or Kyler Murray if their teams decide to move on after this year, but at that point, why not bring back Prescott?

On top of the whole quarterback situation in Dallas, star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is holding out of training camp as he awaits his own contract.

After being selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Lamb has become one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. He’s a better receiver than Prescott is a quarterback. And he definitely deserves to be compensated as one of the top players in the NFL.

He has over 5,000 receiving yards and 32 touchdowns in four seasons with the Cowboys, increasing productivity every single year.
“It just has to make sense,” Lamb said of his contract expectations.

If contract negotiations are going anything like press conferences, they probably don’t make much sense.

Mahomes' Kansas City Chiefs and the Raiders are AFC West rivals, and their battles are always tense.

Although, Mahomes and the Chiefs have owned the division for quite some time.

Fans got a glimpse of how chippy things can get between the two squads during Netflix's "Quarterback" series when Maxx Crosby and Mahomes exchanged words after getting physical.
With training camps back in session, the rivalry is back on.

At Raiders camp, players passed around a Kermit the Frog puppet in a Mahomes jersey with a wig that resembled the three-time Super Bowl winner's hair.
Throughout his career, Mahomes has been the butt of jokes about his voice, which is often compared to a Muppet's.

Ahead of the Chiefs' eventual Super Bowl run, the Raiders seemed to have exposed the Chiefs. Despite not passing for a single yard in the final three quarters on Christmas Day, the Raiders still came away with a 20-14 win at Arrowhead.

Tensions briefly ran high during the Kansas City Chiefs' practice on Wednesday.

Wide receiver Kadarius Toney took exception to a hit from defensive end George Karlaftis. Toney threw the ball at Karlaftis, and some other Chiefs players appeared to exchange words with the third-year edge-rusher. At one point, tight end Travis Kelce confronts Karlaftis as well.
On-field extracurriculars aren't uncommon as NFL teams prepare for the regular season. Houston Texans cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. shoved tight end Dalton Schultz during their practice on Wednesday, triggering an intra-squad scuffle.
Karlaftis' hit on Toney has probably been forgotten about for the most part within the Chiefs.

The moment certainly reaffirmed Kelce's status as a team leader. The nine-time Pro Bowler is the most tenured player on the roster with 159 appearances across 11 years so far, all of which have come in a Chiefs uniform.

Wednesday serves as a lesson for the rest of the league. You'll have to go through Kelce if you have any issues with a member of Kansas City's offense.

When the interviewer said, "I don't know who you're talking about," Chase said, "Yeah, you do," and he was clearly talking about Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. But he didn't want to say it.

During the interview, Travis Kelce's phone begins to ring. Instead of a typical ringtone, viewers can hear the Star Wars character R2-D2 screaming before Travis Kelce answers the phone—and on the other end of the line is Jason Kelce.
The clip was initially shared to X by the New Heights podcast, which the two brothers host. "Trav had the greatest ringtone of all time in 2015," the caption said.
Mahomes reshared the post, adding, "That man still has that ringtone lol." At the time of writing, his post had been viewed 1.8 million times.
During the phone call shown in the video, Travis Kelce tells his brother to "ask the people in the Hawaiian shirts where the scooters are" before saying to the camera: "Being a little brother, I hate when I gotta be the more mature one, you know what I mean? Unbelievable stuff. The guy's been on the earth two years more than me."
After watching the 2015 footage, Jason Kelce laughed and said, "I don't think he's even close to more mature."

As well as being teammates, Mahomes and Travis Kelce are friends, and they are used to ribbing each other.
In an interview on Logan Paul's Impaulsive podcast in May, Mahomes said fatherhood has shifted his ability to keep pace with the lively Kelce brothers.

The Chiefs quarterback, who has two young children with his wife, Brittany Mahomes, said his partying days had taken a back seat. "No, I cannot [keep up with Travis Kelce]. I used to, I think, and then I had kids," he said.

The 28-year-old father highlighted the lifestyle adjustments necessary when balancing parenting and professional commitments, adding that Jason Kelce, also a father, faces similar choices. "Jason has kids, too, so he has to pick and choose. But when he chooses, he can go," he said.

Mahomes praised Travis Kelce, saying: "He puts on this persona. He's like, I'm partying, drinking, whatever, but he's really superintelligent."

In March, the two teammates announced they would be opening a steakhouse with the restaurant chain Noble 33. Although 1587 Prime—a nod to Mahomes and Travis Kelce's jersey numbers—isn't expected to open until early 2025, an Instagram account for the Kansas City joint is live.

The account, , has posted 16 pictures so far, which show off the restaurant's interior and praise "Noble 33's forward-thinking mixology."

The Chiefs' quarterback has previously described Travis Kelce as a "brother," and the 34-year-old tight end served as a groomsman in Mahomes' 2022 wedding.
