Until they saw the photo that fell out of my purse, rich passengers were embarrassed to sit with me in business class.
I've never been so humiliated. Due to my terrible appearance, I felt uncomfortable in business class for the first time. I saved for this ticket for years, unsure of its purpose. The guy next to me pointed and yelled "What is this?" to the flight attendant as I took my seat.
After checking my ticket, the stewardess remarked, "This passenger took a seat according to the ticket she paid for."
"I don't know what's on her ticket, but I bought a business class seat to avoid people like her," he yelled. I feel like I'm in a rundown alley with destitute people."
I was ready to weep. But when other passengers backed this arrogant guy, things became worse. Some wouldn't sit until I left business class.
I was ready to go, but I slipped and fell because I was puzzled. My purse dropped, spilling everything, including a little snapshot.

I have not seen my dad for most of my life. He left my mom and me when I was a teenager and never came back home. I tried not to think about him often, and it almost worked, until one night I got a call from an unknown number. When I hung up, I got a text saying, “ALICE, THIS IS YOUR DAD. PLEASE CALL.
