The third story in this volume is “Mandrake and the Haunted House” (May 16–July 9, 1938). Mandrake and Lothar are ready to relax after all the excitement they’ve had in Hollywood. That is, until a woman on a horse crashes through their window, claiming she’s being haunted. The woman, Ellen, leads Mandrake and Lothar to the Willows, a notoriously haunted house. While Mandrake doesn’t believe in “haunts,” he encounters talking portraits, floating chairs, and a man with a cat face. He and Lothar must solve the mystery of who—or what—is trying to scare Ellen out of her inheritance. This story is reminiscent of the classic Scooby Doo, Where Are You! mysteries, though the animated series didn’t exist until 1969.

Packing, packing, packing! That's what Kandice has been doing all week as we work through pre-orders for the books that just arrived. This was the third load to go to the post office this week with more to go - so if you pre-ordered Johnny Hazard 12, Dark Shadows Sundays/Dailies, or Popeye and haven't gotten your tracking yet, don't worry.

Lot's of orders is always a good problem to have, and we appreciate you patience as we continue to ship.

Mandrake Vol. 2 is expected to arrive over the next week or so, so we are excited to add those to our shipping queue.

We've been a bit quiet here as we work through getting some projects to the printer. Good news is - it's sunny here, and we just got a shipment of books! This shipment contains Popeye, Dark Shadows Newspaper Reprint, and Johnny Hazard 12.

Kandice and Erica were on hand to unpack and get the rest of the shipment off to Diamond Distributors to fill all their orders. We hope to begin shipping pre-orders in the very near future, starting with Popeye. We fill pre-orders in the order they were received, so don't be alarmed if you don't get a shipping notification right away.

Advanced copies of Mandrake Vol. 2 have arrived! This means the rest are on the way from the printer. Once they arrive we will begin processing all the pre-orders in the order they were placed.

This volume contains the stories: Return of the Clay Camel, The Slave Traders of Tygandi, Mandrake in the Lost World, Mandrake in the Lost World, In the Cobra's Grip, and Mandrake in America.

We are expecting this to arrive sometime in October.

One question we get a lot is "what do you mean by damaged?" Well, for us, that can mean a variety of things. Some examples included in the images that we see most often are bumped corners (could be on any part of the cover/spine), and/or damage to the dust jacket.

As most of our products are heading to the homes of collectors, we do our best to make sure, when you order from directly, that you are getting products in awesome condition.

Our damaged products are priced to reflect the issues, and are generally marked at around 50% off the cover price. Damaged items come in and out of stock, and when they are available you can find them in the product listing, below the name.

Know that if you order any of our damaged items, this does not affect the readability on the contents and is only cosmetic damage. We don't take individual pictures of damaged items for sale, but we hope this clears up a bit of what to expect if you do order these deeply discounted items.

***we are also working to find out how to not have damaged items show as 'sale' for the entire listing, which has caused some added confusion***
