We are crushed to hear of the sudden passing of Lee Hansche, a pillar of the New Hampshire climbing community. Our deepest condolences to all who were close to him, and to the many who benefited from his community works, charisma, and energy. Photo of Lee in Pawtuckaway by Time Kemple.

Heads up! Your project is still wet!

Rifle Creek, which runs through the park, is overflowing its banks and running extremely fast, the city said. These conditions are expected to worsen as more precipitation is anticipated for the area.

We've been working on the new edition of our local guidebook, Western Sloper, so there have been lots of excuses to get out in the western Colorado hills during this beautiful wet spring. In all my years in the valley I've never seen this 200-foot waterfall form before. Amazing! If you're thinking of climbing Kryptonite anytime soon, bring an umbrella!

Five years in the making! That’s a record for us, but this one is close to our hearts, chock full of new routes and beta, and we wanted to get it right. And then we kept improving it. And adding to it. Independence Pass has the finest high-country cragging in the Rockies, period, and this is its first full-color guidebook. Almost 1000 routes, from 5.4 slabs to overhanging 5.14s, sport, trad, multi-pitch — all in beautiful subalpine forest below snow-covered peaks. Gold Butte? Check. Monitor Rock and the Dump Wall? Yes, the full treatment. Great camping, swimming, 14ers to climb, then hit the glitzy bars of the legendary town of Aspen right down the road. Or don’t! Just hang out at camp and read the essays by a cast of characters including Lou Dawson, Henry Barber, Molly Bruce, Josh Wharton, and Mark Anderson. This book has been printed and is on the way. If you order it ahead of time you get a special presale price.

About The Pass The Pass - Independence Pass - offers the finest high-country cragging in the Colorado Rockies. Even though climbing has been documented here since the 1950s, this is the area’s first full-color guidebook. The highly featured granitic rock of the Pass offers almost 1000 routes, from...

For decades, climbers in the know have hit the limestone of Trinity Arêtes and pulled pockets at the seaside Promontory in Northwest California, two of the best sport crags in the state. Now, Evan Wisheropp’s new book REDWOOD BURL gives you the full-color scoop on these and over 50 other crags in the region. Between the coastal cliffs and the inland hills, the season is virtually year-round.

This one was years in the making and reveals a huge amount of previously undocumented climbing — easily accessible to climbers from the Bay Area to southern Oregon, and worthy of a road trip from anywhere. In the mood for some sea cliffs, sea lions, river-polished boulders, limestone caves, towering redwood groves, awesome camping? Check out this book, available for pre-order now. Evan's photos alone will have you planning your visit. https://www.wolverinepublishing.com/store/redwood-burl-pre-order/
.. plus, $1 from every book sold will help support the Northwest California Climbers Coalition.

About the book Redwood Burl is a compact yet comprehensive guide to the extensive climbing in Northwest California. The college town of Arcata is the center of a universe of incredible but little-known cragging and bouldering. Sea cliffs, sea lions, river-polished boulders, towering redwoods, hidden...

We got a message yesterday from Kris Walker, who was coming through to celebrate an anniversary of a climb in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, not far from our headquarters. Kris was a little-known crusher back when he did the climb, and teamed up with another much better-known crusher, Bill Forrest (R.I.P.), to make the FA of the biggest, baddest cliff in Colorado, the Painted Wall. 50 years ago. Happy 50th anniversary, Kris - looking good!

We are SO PSYCHED to have finally finished this book! Penitente was one of Colorado's very first sport-climbing areas. For a while there in the late 1980s it and Shelf Road had the densest concentrations of hard climbs in the state, and later, some of the first "easy" sport climbs anywhere. Despite a rash of new 5.14s put up in the last few years, the area is no longer "in the news," but it's just as awesome and popular as ever. Yet this is its first "modern" guidebook — and the only one that's not hopelessly out of date. Beautiful action photography by author Nate Liles and others. Great climbing, great camping, new mountain-biking trails, and amazing 60-mile views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains and Great Sand Dunes National Park. Now on pre-order:

Pre-order now and save $5! Books are expected to ship in late October. Multiple-title orders will ship together when Penitente is in. About the book Foot for foot, the gem-like rhyolite of the San Luis Valley offers some of the finest climbing in the state. This guide covers all the most popular are...

So pleased to announce the new 2nd edition of the 2-volume set Whitewater of the Southern Appalachians by Kirk Eddlemon. If you are a paddler - East, West, or anywhere - you will be blown away by the whitewater covered in these books, and equally impressed with the amount and quality of the beta. We got to meet Kirk, Laura, and Alex as they toured through Colorado this summer running everything that looked fun and rad and climbing a few rocks, too. Such great people! This was a meticulous revision, catching all the put-in and take-out changes, adding a bunch of runs, and with all-new action photography that is worth the price of the books all by itself. Pre-order discount applies now, but the books are almost here so it won't last long! The link is to the set, but the individual books are discounted, too. https://www.wolverinepublishing.com/store/whitewater-southern-appalachians-bundle/
