The National at The Golf Performance Center is teeing up a summer of friendly competition with Tuesday night Men’s League and Thursday night Ladies League play. The Ladies League begins on June 17, with the Men's League starting on June 19. Both leagues begin at 7:30 PM with two-person teams and a shotgun start.

Registration fee is $30.00, and green fees are reduced to $15.00 for league nights. Points are awarded each week—18 for first place, 17 for second, and so on—leading up to bragging rights and prizes at the season’s end.

You’ll hit the course as the sun goes down and finish under the lights. The National Short Course is now open at night, offering a fast, fun, and public 9-hole round designed to be completed in under 40 minutes.
Spots are limited to 18 teams per league.

Pet Pantry Dog Days returns to the New Canaan Nature Center on Sunday, June 1st, and Rock Paper Scissors Custom Events has created a brand-new scavenger hunt called Bonkers for Balls!

The new concept, which will excite both dogs, and their owners ensures everyone is guaranteed to win a prize. Once checked in you will be given a map, where you and your faithful friend must sniff out one tennis ball (per entry) within the trails and stalls. Once found, race back to Rachel at Rock Paper Scissors, and hand your ball in. Each ball is numbered, you will then discover if you have won a major or minor prize. The top prize is a large Bowsers Pet Products Bed worth over $300. 100% of all ticket sales are going to Adopt-A-Dog.

Rock Paper Scissors have devised numerous scavenger hunts for Dog Days but felt by introducing this – the dogs would have more fun. People can also enter numerous times, resulting in more being raised for Adopt-A-Dog. Dog Days is open from 11am-4pm, the Scavenger Hunt will run from 11am-3pm.

Town of New Canaan on Memorial Day!
Every year the community of New Canaan gathers on Memorial Day to remember with gratitude and honor the proud men and women who gave their lives while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces to protect and preserve a life of freedom for all Americans.

The Parade and Memorial Ceremony, sponsored by the Town of New Canaan and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Howard Bossa and Peter Langenus Post 653, will be held Monday May 26 starting at 9:30 a.m.

The Parade steps off from St. Mark’s Church and proceeds down Oenoke Ridge to upper Main Street, past the Wayside Cross at God’s Acre, past the Firehouse and Town Hall, and continues down Main Street to Lakeview Cemetery. There, parade watchers and marchers gather with veterans and Town officials for remarks about the true meaning and purpose of the Memorial Day holiday

This year’s Grand Marshal is Brian van der Heyden. The Guest Speaker is U.S. Marine combat veteran Chris Paksi, and Msgr. Robert Kinnally, pastor of St. Aloysius Church, will represent New Canaan clergy and lead the ceremony in prayer.

For the first time, this year’s ceremony will have a flyover by the 118th Airlift Squadron out of Bradley ANGB with a C-130 aircraft at exactly 11a.m.

Every year the community of New Canaan gathers on Memorial Day to remember with gratitude and honor the proud men and women who gave their lives while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces to protect and preserve a life of freedom for all Americans.

Today, National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®) announced this year’s National Merit $2500 Scholarship winners. The 2,500 Merit Scholar designees were chosen from a talent pool of more than 15,000 outstanding Finalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Congratulations to New Canaan resident Eric Huang, a student at New Canaan High School, who was named a National Merit $2500 Scholarship winner. Huang’s probable career field: Computer Science.
