1962: Patsy Cline released her third studio album Sentimentally Yours, the final album Cline recorded before her death in a plane crash less than a year later. Also on this day, Patsy Cline appeared on Pet Milk Grand Ole Opry performing "A Church, A Courtroom, Then Goodbye", "You're Stronger Than Me," and "So Wrong."

1982: "Yesterday's Wine" a duet by George Jones and Merle Haggard was released which peaked at #1 on the Country charts. Written by Willie Nelson (and the title track of the 1971 album of the same name by Nelson), the song inspired the title of their first duet LP by Jones and Haggard, A Taste of Yesterday's Wine.

Today's Pet of the Week from the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area, Inc., is Vkram!

This is Vkram’s fourth time at the shelter, and this time his humans didn’t want to come pick him up.

This didn’t damage his spirits too much, and this 3-year-old pitty mix is looking for a fresh start. Our handsome friend is about 45 pounds and many staff and volunteers say he is gentle on a leash, seems potty tried, and is quite timid.

The Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area is thrilled to host a special adoption event at our shelter (located at 3353 Morningside Dr, New Braunfels, TX 78132) on Saturday, July 27th, from 10 AM to 4 PM! All adoption fees are reduced to $5!

Don't miss this unique opportunity to meet pets from both our shelter and foster homes, as we bring them all together for this special one-day event! We have SOO many wonderful pets currently in foster care who are ready to meet you this weekend!

Volunteers and foster caregivers will be onsite to answer questions about the pets and assist potential adopters in getting to know their new best friends. ❤️

Thanks to the generous support of the Bissell Pet Foundation, all adoption fees are reduced to just $5 until the end of July.

Festivities in Landa Park begin at 6 p.m. at the Dance Slab with the final Live @ Landa concert, sponsored by ValMark Chevrolet, featuring Monte Good opening for the J.Abram Band. The RE/MAX Skydiving Team will also parachute into the golf course ahead of the fireworks display.
