New Boston Police Department is asking for information on the whereabouts of Rondarrius “DaeDae” Evans. The 20-year-old is wanted for two counts of murder in the July shooting deaths of Princeton Washington and Nicholas Webster, both 19, at the Dogwood Plaza Apartments in New Boston.

Malaki Beckham, 19, is currently being held on two capital murder charges in the deaths. He fled the scene and was arrested three days after the shooting in Red River County. Beckham’s bail has been set at $3 million.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Evans is asked to contact NBPD at 903-628-3771.

Harvest Regional Food Bank will be distributing 400 emergency food boxes to Texas residents only on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 beginning at 8:30am at T&P Trail Head Park Pavilion, #1 Trail Head Park Plaza, New Boston, TX. Distribution will last until 11:30am or until all boxes have been distributed. Recipients are directed to enter the Festival Grounds Entrance from the SE Front St. Distribution is limited to one box per household and 2 households per vehicle. Next Mobile Pantry for New Boston Residents will be on October 16, 2024.



Recipients must bring photo identification and proof of address for verifying they are a resident of Texas. Distribution is limited to one box per household and 2 households per vehicle.

On July 6, 2024, at approximately 5:42 pm New Boston Police Department responded to a shooting call in the 300 block of N. Linsey St. Upon arrival, officers located two victims who were shot. The victims were identified as Nicholas Webster 19 of Jefferson, Texas who was transported to the hospital and remains hospitalized in critical condition, the second victim Princeton Washington 19 of Linden, Texas was pronounced deceased at the scene.
After an intensive investigation the shooter was identified as 19-year-old Malaki Beckham of New Boston.

Based on evidence and witness information obtained in the investigation New Boston Police obtained an arrest for Malaki on July 7, 2024 who was seen fleeing the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

After an intensive manhunt Malaki was located in Clarksville, Texas on July 11, 2024. New Boston Police with the assistance of the Bowie County Sheriff’s Department, Bowie County District Attorney’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, U.S. Marshall’s Task Force, Homeland Security Investigators, NE Texas Auto Theft Task Force, and the Red River County Sheriff’s Department Malaki was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Red River County Jail.

Malaki Beckham, the person of interest in the fatality shooting at Dogwood Plaza in New Boston last week has been arrested and is now in custody in Red River County.

He is currently being interviewed by New Boston law enforcement.

NBPD will be issuing a press release with more information as soon as possible.

Bowie County is set to feel the impacts of Beryllater this afternoon with the possibility of heavy rains and flooding, along with an elevated tornado risk coming into the area after 4 p.m. today. beryl has been spawning tornadoes along its path as it makes its way north and east with six tornado warnings active as of 1 p.m. just to the south of us around Center, Texas, and over into Louisiana. This is a dangerous complex of storms. The potential for flooding, power outages, and wind damage is very real. If you do not have to be out after 4 p.m., don't be. The Animal Protection League is set up under the pavilion at T&P Trailhead Park in Downtown New Boston today. They will be set up until 3 p.m. for walkup low-cost vaccinations for dogs and cats. They provide spay and neuter services by appointment only. Their next visit to New Boston will be Monday, August 12.
