Last night we enjoyed dinner at Capone’s Hideout with our good friends John and Jeannie Alexander. They own Books on the Square at Virden, IL, as well as a second bookstore in downtown Springfield. They have been big supporters of downstate publications
for 20+ years..

Downstate Publications has eight books available for purchase. You can order by emailing [email protected], by messaging us on Facebook or by calling 217 488-7709. Brothers Notorious and Summer of '50 are $15.95; the cat book is $7.50; and the other titles are $18.95. Shipping is an additional charge. The top row of books in the photo are novels. The cat book is a true story. The others are biographies.

Taylor will be the guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the Macoupin County Historical Society tomorrow evening, May 6. The topic will be “ Incredible Gangsters Of Downstate Illinois.”
