It's that time again! Tonight is the July edition of the First Friday Art Walk in New Albany!

SAVE THE DATE! Friday July 5th from 5pm-8pm, visit The Wildflower & other participating businesses in downtown New Albany for July's First Friday Art Walk!

We will be hosting some incredible local artists!

-Scott Cooksey (.by.scott) is a local potter with 17 years of experience! He will be here showing off his beautiful ceramics from mugs, to planters, trays, juicers, and more!

-Kaylee Rain () is a recent FCHS grad & current Lipscomb University student majoring in Animation. She will be displaying her gorgeous digital art prints and live-drawing caricatures!

-Liv Sutherlin & her brother Jack Sutherlin have had a musical upbringing here in Southern Indiana and they will be performing live music for your entertainment!

This is sure to be a fun and exciting Art Walk! We'd love for you to visit downtown and celebrate the local artists that make our community so vibrant & beautiful!

🗣️ New Albany is cancelling tonight’s Shoreline Independence Day Celebration. More details 👇🏼👇🏼

City Officials and Public Safety leaders have been analyzing weather forecasts in anticipation of tonight’s Shoreline Independence Day Celebration. Current forecasts are calling for extreme heat, including a heat advisory, as well as scattered severe thunderstorms throughout the afternoon and evening.

The highest possibility for severe thunderstorms with a high frequency of lightning is currently around 9pm, when the largest crowd is anticipated to be gathered at the amphitheater.

“Due to these factors, we are sorry to announce that tonight’s Shoreline Independence Day Celebration is cancelled,” stated Mayor Jeff Gahan. “We will work towards rescheduling our favorite firework celebration in the near future.”

Heads Up, New Albany:

TARC is introducing a pilot service called TARC On-Demand. The service is for short local trips and uses smaller vehicles that customers can hail from their smartphones when they need to. TARC On-Demand will cover all of New Albany and include stops like downtown and Indiana University Southeast’s campus.
