The voters have spoken.
In Nevis, incumbent
mayor Jeanne Thompson
will continue to hold the
gavel, earning 144 votes, 96
percent. She ran
unopposed.
In the contest for two
Nevis council seats, Blair
Reuther claimed 94 votes,
36 percent, and John
Carrier received 85, 33
percent. Ryan Mathisrud
had 76 votes, 29 percent.
The three Nevis
School District 308 board
members elected were
Andrew Lindow with 964
votes, 28 percent; Aimee
Plumley with 664 votes, 19
percent; and Jennifer
McNamee earned 596 votes
17, percent.
Candidates Marv
Vredenburg claimed 535
votes, David McGee earned
352 votes and Benjamin
Hass, 346.
In Akeley, where three
council seats were up for
election, incumbents Billy
Krotzer earned 110 votes,
47 percent, and Dan Riggs
105 votes, 45 percent.
Write-in candidate Dale
Nelson will also be sworn in
January.
Hubbard County
Board candidates David
DeLaHunt in District 1,
Charlene Christenson in
District 2 and Ted Van
Kempen, all running
unopposed, were re-
elected. Tom Krueger won
re-election in District 3,
Krueger earning 898 votes
and opponent Teresa Walsh
claiming 809.
Sheriff Cory Aukes and
County Attorney Jonathan
Frieden, both running
unopposed, were re-elected
by 98 percent margins.

Republican incumbent
candidate in District 5A Paul
Utke earned 5,421 votes, 67
percent, and DFL candidate
A. John Peters received
2,627 votes, 33 percent.
Republican Krista
Knudsen earned 5,189
votes, 65 percent in the
State Representative
District 5A race, DFL
candidate Brian Hobson,
2,817, with 35 percent.
State Senate
Republican candidate Steve
Green in District 2 earned
re-election on a 67 percent
margin, 1,714 votes and
DFL candidate Leonard
Alan Roy had 844 votes, 33
percent.
Republican
candidates for Governor
Scott Jensen and
Lieutenant Governor Matt
Birk received 62 percent of
the vote, with 6,590 ballots
cast in their favor.
Democrats Tim Walz and
Peggy Flanagan earned
3,672 votes, 29 percent.
Republican Kim
Crockett won 6,592 votes in
her bid for Secretary of
State, 62 percent. DFL
candidate Steve Simon had
3,977 votes, 38 percent.
Republican candidate
for U.S. District 7
Representative Michelle
Fischbach received 63
percent of the votes, 3,671,
and DFL candidate Jill
Abahsain 30 percent, 1,756
votes.
Republican candidate
for U.S. District 8
Representative Pete
Stauber claimed 3,180, 66
percent, and his DFL
opponent Jen Schultz had
1,633 votes, 34 percent.
