🍔 Neosho Rubicon Historical Society and Museum is having a Brat Fry from 1-6pm in Veteran's Park right on Hwy 67... you can't miss it!

🎣 The Neosho Pond Association is holding a Fishing Rummage Sale from 1-6pm right next to the Brat Fry. All profits will be going towards the restoration of the Neosho Mill Pond dam!

🧡🖤Out of 300+ HUHS graduates, 86 received recognition at scholarship breakfast.... 10 of those students are HNR graduates! We weren't able to get all of them for the group photo, but here's most of them and they are all listed below. 🔵We would love to see someone from the HNR district involved with this HUHS committee! What a fantastic way for community voices to be heard in a very important area of public education.
🟡The Human Growth and Development Committee is looking for a CURRENT HUHS PARENT to join their efforts. The committee meets for approximately 1-2 hours a month. Meetings will begin once again in August. Fill out the simple Google form in the post below if interested.

Last night at the School Board Meeting the President, Michelle Cordeiro announced a School Board Vacancy:

The vacancy will run from the day the board votes the member in to April 18, 2025.

Interested candidates should notify the district, in writing, no later than Thursday, May 23, 2024 by sending an email to:

NEXT STEPS: On May 24, 2024, the current school board will review potential candidates and decide on next steps

📫 Some are in mailboxes already! Fill out this survey and make sure HNR voices are represented on this important matter for Hartford Union High School District ✅

In 2022, Hartford Union High School (HUHS) area voters rejected a referendum to update facilities. We acknowledge and respect the community’s decision. Now, we must refine our plans to better reflect the priorities of our taxpayers.

To help accomplish this goal, the District formed the Citizens Facilities Advisory Committee (CFAC). This group (made up of parents, staff, and community members) studied a facility assessment and feedback gathered from stakeholder interviews which identified more than $180 million in potential projects. We recognize completing all of these projects at one time is not realistic.

We need your feedback to determine which projects, if any, should be part of the first phase of a long-term facility improvement plan. The CFAC will use this input to finalize their recommendation to the School Board. To keep all feedback confidential, survey responses are collected by an independent research firm.

Your survey should be in your mailbox soon. Thank you for giving us your valuable time and input.

Did you know Hartford Union High School offers a youth apprenticeship program?!

One this is great to know as our kids head into High School the amazing option to learn while working. For many, this is a better fit for their learning needs and environment to thrive! And it gives on the job experience as they choose what to explore and take on after High school.

Second, if you are a business in our HoNoR community maybe consider reaching out to HUHS and CESA7 to get set up to accept these amazing young people! You can support our students learning, promote your business and it’s a beneficial long term recruitment opportunity!

National Youth Apprenticeship Week! YA is for many industries and career paths, not just the trades. Many students in YA are involved in sports and clubs at school, in addition to their work responsibilities. Our YA student spotlight today is with Titus. He is working in the finance industry, working at Bank Five Nine here in Hartford. CESA 7

Truly a community bank!

We love seeing our team engaging with students! Peggy Hoeppner, our Universal Banker in Neosho, read to three classes ranging from kindergarten to 3rd grade at Herman Neosho Rubicon School District in Neosho!

Peggy’s efforts in engaging with students and teaching them about saving money are commendable. Financial literacy is indeed an essential skill, and it’s great to see the enthusiasm in sharing that knowledge with our youth!
