"The Lord answered our prayers and took our daddy, Buck White, home peacefully this morning at 8:00 a.m. We are so thankful for his 94 years on this earth. He was a great dad who taught us by example to put Jesus first always. His great loves were the Lord, our mother, his family, and music. Most people will remember him not only for being a great musician and entertainer, but also for being fun-loving and full of mischief. He lived a full life and finished well." --his daughters, Sharon, Cheryl, Rosie and Melissa

Truegrass comes to you from Nashville today, and we’ll be celebrating the birthday (a day late) of fiddle legend Vassar Clements. We’ll go all the way back to his first days as a member of Bill Monroe’s band in 1950 but also play classic recordings from throughout his career. We’ll have other classic bluegrass, too, as usual, including one from Valerie Smith Music, who makes her Truegrass debut. Also, J.D. Crowe, the Stanley Brothers, the Lost & Found, Laurie Lewis (one I haven’t played before), Flatt & Scruggs, and lots more. SiriusXM Bluegrass Junction 3-5 PM Eastern.
