Show producers Will Packer and Shayla Cowan today announced the next wave of star presenters headed to the stage for the 94th Oscars®. The lineup includes Daniel Kaluuya, Mila Kunis, Lupita Nyong’o, Naomi Scott, Wesley Snipes and John Travolta. The Oscars will air live on ABC and broadcast outlets worldwide on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at 8 p.m. EDT/5 p.m. PDT.

Previously announced Oscars presenters include Ruth E. Carter, Kevin Costner, Anthony Hopkins, Lily James, Zoë Kravitz, Lady Gaga, John Leguizamo, Simu Liu, Rami Malek, Rosie Perez, Chris Rock, Uma Thurman and Yuh-Jung Youn. The Latin Recording Academy® announced the initial roster of performers for the 22nd Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards®, which includes past Latin GRAMMY® winners Rubén Blades, Nella and Ozuna, who are also current nominees, along with Paula Arenas, Danna Paola and C. Tangana.

As previously announced, Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga, Calibre 50, La Arrolladora Banda El Limón de René Camacho and Los Dos Carnales will also join the star-studded lineup.

Rubén Blades, an eight-time Latin GRAMMY and nine-time GRAMMY® winner, 2021 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year™, singer-songwriter, producer, musician, actor, and activist, will take the stage with a vibrant performance alongside Roberto Delgado & Orquesta featuring an ensemble of 20 musicians.

With the theme "Rediscovering Life Through Music," the telecast will invite audiences to rediscover what’s important in life using music as a storyline. With one-of-a-kind collaborations and unique Latin GRAMMY moments, the ceremony promises to be an exceptional celebration of musical excellence paired with inspirational storytelling.

In addition, Ana Brenda Contreras, Carlos Rivera and Roselyn Sánchez will serve as hosts of the 22nd Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards. Contreras is returning as host for the second consecutive year and is joined by Rivera, who emceed the 18th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards. Sánchez also hosted the 16th, 17th, 18th and 20th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards.

The 22nd Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards broadcast will air live on Univision on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. CT). It will also air on cable channel TNT at 19.00 (MEX) / 20.00 (PAN-COL) / 21.00 (VEN) / 22.00 (ARG/CHI), and on Televisa on Channel 5.

The Latin GRAMMY Premiere®, where the majority of the categories are awarded, will precede the telecast. Additional details about this long-established afternoon full of unforgettable performances, heartfelt acceptance speeches and Latin GRAMMY moments will also be announced at a later date.

A very limited number of tickets for the 22nd Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards are available for purchase at www.axs.com. To attend all Latin Recording Academy events in Las Vegas, proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test will be required, along with a government-issued photo ID. Only lab-administered PCR and COVID-19 antigen tests will be accepted and must be administered within 72 hours of the attended event(s). Garth Brooks to Present RIAA Lifetime Achievement Award To Charley Pride and His Accomplished Career in Country Music

Trailblazing Country music legend, Charley Pride, will be honored on October 25th at the National Museum of African American Music with the RIAA Lifetime Achievement Award presented by Garth Brooks. Charley's son, Dion, will accept the honor from the RIAA on behalf of his late father. RIAA Chairman & CEO, Mitch Glazier and COO Michele Ballantyne will be presenting a plaque to not only Charlie’s family but one to the Museum for their walls, as well.

"Sometimes the greatest honor you can receive is being part of honoring someone else - this is an honor," says Brooks.

Pride's profound contributions to not only the sonic landscape of Country music but also the move towards wider inclusion and representation in the genre have helped set the stage for countless artists and his influence continues to be felt today. As part of the celebration of Charley Pride, his music and his courageous pursuit of a dream, Brooks will sit down with songwriter, author and Vanderbilt University faculty member, Alice Randall, for a live Q&A discussing Pride’s influence on him, country music in general and their recent collaboration. Brooks will perform acoustically the last song that Charlie recorded, the duet with Brooks “Where the Cross Don’t Burn,” penned by the late Troy Jones and the late Phil Thomas.

Pride and Brooks recorded “Where the Cross Don't Burn” in September for Brooks' Fun album, which came out in November. Brooks traveled to Pride's studio in Dallas to record the duet, which chronicles the friendship between a young white boy and an older Black man during segregation. The making of this duet was based on an internet rumor that Pride had passed away. Brooks had held the song “Where The Cross Don’t Burn” for 10 years hoping to collaborate with Pride and when the rumor was stated as false, Brooks knew it was knew it was time and called up Pride’s management and the ballad was quickly recorded.

Alice Randall is on the Faculty of Vanderbilt University in the Department of African-American and Diaspora Studies. She has published extensively on Black artists working in country and her courses include “The Country Lyric in American Culture” and “Black Country.” Randall was a consultant on all episodes of Ken Burns documentary Country Music and appears in two. She also appears in the PBS documentary on Charley Pride, I’m Just Me. She has co-written more than twenty recorded songs including "###’s and OOO’s" which celebrates “Aretha Franklin and Patsy Cline” and was recorded by Trisha Yearwood.

How about a Direct Flight from Nashville International Airport® Edmonton and Toronto

BNA® will expand its range of international flights in 2022 with a new carrier, Flair Airlines, and nonstop service to two Canadian destinations: Edmonton and Toronto. Both flights will operate twice-weekly beginning in April 2022.
Edmonton is a first-ever route for Nashville International Airport. Flair’s Toronto flight adds to existing nonstop service from Nashville to Ontario. Other Canadian air service at BNA includes Calgary, courtesy of another carrier.

Flair is Canada’s only independent ultra low-cost carrier (ULCC) and brings Nashville International Airport’s total number of airline partners to 17.

“Travelling and reconnecting with friends will be among the top priorities for many Canadians in the coming months, and Flair is continuing our growth by adding more aircraft and routes so we can bring sustainably low fares to even more iconic destinations across North America,” said Stephen Jones, Flair Airlines president and CEO. “Whether you’re looking for a weekend break on Vancouver Island or hiking in the Rockies, Flair will get you there affordably.”

“Getting to Canada will be even easier with the addition of Flair Airlines and nonstop service to Edmonton and Toronto,” said Doug Kreulen, Nashville International Airport president and CEO. “This is fantastic news for Nashville, Middle Tennessee and our neighbors to the north. FRANKLIN INTERNATIONAL INDIE FILM FESTIVAL RETURNS NOVEMBER

Physical theaters still offer a very important social experience, despite the ready availability of movies on streaming services. The likes of Netflix or Hulu cannot replace the communal sharing of moments of surprise, wonder, horror, joy, or sorrow experienced by viewers when they’re seated in front of a large screen with their friends and others from their community. This large-scale communal experience of art stimulates thought and invites the community to open important dialogs.

This goes double for film festivals. These venues offer a unique and particular showcase for independent films that are by and large not yet available for home viewing. As such, they are an art exhibition, an exhibition of the craft of filmmaking, and an industry networking experience rolled into one.

The Franklin International Indie Film Festival (FIIFF) is returning this year in its fifth edition to showcase new films and the talented crew who make them. The FIIFF will take place Tuesday, Nov. 9 – Sunday, Nov. 14 in The Factory at Franklin’s Mockingbird Theater.
