I don’t know who needs to hear this… but driving straight does not mean you “can pull a trailer”.

I’m dedicating this post as a personal THANK YOU to each and everyone of yall who helped spread the word about Lugnuts disappearance, from small town Tennessee all the way to Canada, Australia and the UK - it is clear that if you didn’t already love a chubby raccoon, you quickly fell in love with Lugnut.

Thank you to this small town that I love so much. Yall are so quick to jump in to help when someone is in need, we witness it all the time here. I am still going through all the messages of the outpouring help offered. I’m always proud to say where I come from 🧡

Thank you to all of my hunting friends. They offered nothing but high quality supplies, head lights, thermal monoculars, brand new trail cams etc. I had a few conversations with very close friends and we tossed around the idea of getting a c oon dog involved. It would be risky and our biggest concern was if Lugnut was on the ground and he could not react quick enough, plus him being overweight would slow him down. I had friends confident he would be ok and I had friends who weren’t comfortable with their dog doing this job, mostly because they know how much I love Lugnut and didn’t want that on them if something went bad. I don’t blame them and you can’t be mad at a hunting dog for doing its job. So that lead me into considering other dog options because I was not comfortable using a hunting dog.

I made a final phone call to my friend Keith, who was a K-9 trainer and told him I wanted to get a dog involved so I knew he could point me in the right direction. We brainstormed and he mentioned he could bring Mercy over to the farm. Mercy is a 9 year old Belgian Malinois who is trained as a personal protection and hot tracking dog. He wasn’t sure if she would pick his scent up and work but it was worth a shot. Not gonna lie, I questioned it a lot because I’ve seen these working dogs, they ain’t all exactly cuddly 😂 but he knows his dogs and I trust him to keep Lugnut safe. Keith and his family also showed up the first night and helped me search for hours. And not only that when Lugnut was found… Terri (Keith’s wife) came rushing over and straight into the woods with a cute dress on so she could hold Mercy while Keith went to grab a few things we needed to get him.

Lastly, Thank you to Mercy… she caught Lugnuts scent and went straight to work. She located the area of where Lugnut was found within an hour searching. Had it not been for her I don’t know if we would have found him. She deserves all the pup cups 🥺

Lugnut is still missing. We have covered so many miles. He may have been spotted near Gunner Lane. If you live between Old Hwy 99 to Gunner lane please, I’m literally begging you call me if your dogs are acting weird or chasing something fluffy, if you hear noises near a structure or up in a tree or even down in the bushes. I do not care if it’s just nothing, it MAY be him. You are not wasting my time.

Please take into consideration that:
•He is legally permitted and I’ve raised him as a baby.
•He is very friendly but he is scared.
•He does like dogs and will not harm them or your cats. But please, I beg you, be mindful of your dogs during this time if you can. I know it’s no one’s responsibility but mine. My fear is he will run across the wrong animal and it will kill him because he thinks he can be friends with it.
•He does like women > men. If you can have a female holler for him. He is more likely to make himself know to a female.
•If seen, please don’t chase him or try to catch him. Just keep your eyes on him and I will come do the rest.

Those who know me, know how much Lugnut means to me. I’m trying to keep him SAFE while I look for him. If you are near the area and can help me by looking and just watching for any type of activity that may be him when you have the free time it is greatly appreciated. The more eyes watching for him and trying to out of harms way, the better. I’m exhausted but not giving up. Raccoons are brilliant animals and I’m sure he is not too far. They normally do not travel more than a mile from their den. I appreciate everyone’s help this far ❤️

🚨Amber Alert 🚨 Lugnut is missing as of August 27.
Ball Lane and Old 99 hwy please be on the lookout. And slow down so you don’t run him over. He is 30+ pounds. Very round, obese if you must judge him. He is light colored gray. He will probably make friends with your girlfriend, your dog and cats but he will be timid of men unless you offer him a honey bun. Tell your wife to bake him cookies and hold him host@ge if spotted! He is an absolute sweetheart, please if you spot a raccoon and it doesn’t run from you call me!!!
Do not, I repeat- do NOT shoot him.
He is my baby and I want him home 😭😭😭
