This is a simple reminder to keep calm and story on. Sharing your story adds value, creates morale, influences, inspires and it does impact those who come in contact with it. Frantically racing to figure it out and share story after story is the wrong approach. You’re not trying to cure cancer here, you’re sharing your journey and all of the little idiosyncrasies along the way. You, your company, your movement, your organization, your music, your art, your own being is worthy to be shared and we are all the better for it. Story is written, it is visual, it’s just as much video as well as a still image or a meme. It’s a website, a logo upon a golfball, it’s everywhere we look if you think about it. What’s your story? Yes I want to hear about it and so do those seeking you out.

golden nugget details that make your story unique? Create a story calendar and block out what you have that is share-worthy on the calendar. Capture visual content that conveys the story. Whether you are completing a new project, attending an event, highlighting something special

Know Your Story

It’s been fun helping my clients across the board but I always feel bad when people spend tons of money on filming content only to discover they have no story. Stop going out to create content without knowing what your story is. People spend thousands of dollars on camera equipment, crews and post production but have no game plan ahead of time as to what they are shooting. Spend some time figuring it out, identify what is unique and special about it and then cover the story so that you have a beginning, middle and end. This goes for written, still and motion media. I think we’ve gotten a little off track these days with content. Companies and people trying to go viral all the time when what is missing is the story, the story that takes work to dig up, uncover and share. In the constant swiping and over saturation of anyone and everyone sharing away we’ve forgotten that slow and steady wins the race.
