We are NOT selling any t-shirts or any other merchandise online. There are a lot of scams happening right now to artists and several people we know have gotten taken advantage of by these scammers this morning.

Please note for the future that anything we would sell would originate from a link off of the Keeping It Country Live website at keepingitcountrylive.com not from a random link on Facebook itself.

We even have people pretending to be affiliated with us trying to sell vendor spots to events, etc. this is all taking a toll on independent artists and independent companies like us who are here to help independent artists.

Once again we are NOT selling any t-shirts or anything presently and this further reinforces why we don’t like doing shirts or similar things especially online.

If you have seen this happening please comment below and be sure to report any suspicious fraudulent activity to Facebook as soon as possible.

Hank Williams (Hiram King Williams) was born on this day, September 17th, 1923 in Mount Olive, Alabama. The American singer-songwriter and musician is regarded as one of the most important country music artists of all time. Williams recorded 35 singles (five released posthumously) that would place in the Top 10 of the Billboard Country & Western Best Sellers chart, including 11 that ranked #1. During his last years Williams's consumption of alcohol, morphine and painkillers severely compromised his professional life. Williams died aged 29 on January 1, 1953.

Photo taken on September 10th, 2001 …

Tonight... 23 years ago, 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift.

None of them saw past 10:00am Sept 11, 2001. Not one.

In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted.

Twitty achieved stardom with hit songs like ‘Hello Darlin’, ‘You've Never Been This Far Before’, and ‘Linda on My Mind’. Twitty topped Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart 40 times in his career, a record that stood for two decades until it was surpassed by George Strait, and topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart once with ‘It's Only Make Believe’. From 1971 to 1976, Twitty received a string of Country Music Association awards for duets with Loretta Lynn.
He died June 5, 1993 aged 59. His last studio album, Final Touches, was released two months later.

Remembering the late Dottie West.
On August 30th, 1991, she was en route to the Grand Ole Opry when the car she was driving stalled. Her neighbor George Thackston came to her aid; however, as he was speeding to get her to the Opry on time he lost control of his vehicle, going airborne and hitting an embankment. It was later reported that Thackston had taken the 25 mile-per-hour exit ramp at an estimated speed of 55 miles per hour.
Although, West did not originally appear injured at the scene of the wreck, she had suffered a ruptured spleen and a lacerated liver. West underwent a 90-minute surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and was then taken to the surgical intensive care unit. West underwent a second operation but lost a significant amount of blood and doctors did not think she would survive.
On the morning of September 4, 1991, West was being prepared for her next surgery. However, her heart stopped on the operating table at 9:43 AM, and she was unable to be revived. She was 58 years old.
Thackston was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Thackston ultimately survived the crash. He was later charged with reckless endangerment and pleaded no contest. He was ultimately sentenced to 11 months probation and to complete an alcohol recovery program.

64 years ago on this day (August 27th, 1960) the last ever Louisiana Hayride show (of it's initial 12 year run run) was broadcast.

The Louisiana Hayride started as a country music radio show in 1948, airing on KWKH and broadcast from the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana. The show would later be aired if television while also launching the careers of some of the biggest names in American country & western music. Some names include Hank Williams, Faron Young, Johnny Cash, Slim Whitman, Kitty Wells, Webb Pierce, Jim Reeves, Johnny Horton, David Houston and Elvis Presley.

a message from our friend and historian Joey Kent

"The Hayride continued throughout the 60s on into 1971 as mostly touring package shows were brought to the Muni and KWKH broadcast them as Louisiana Hayride shows over their extensive network. Then, beginning in 1974, my father (David Kent) and Frank Page restarted the Louisiana Hayride which was broadcast weekly over the ensuing 13 years, a run longer than the original incarnation, and produced stars Linda Davis, Shoji Tabuchi, Randy Travis (Traywick back then), Micki Fuhrman and a host of world class songwriters and musicians that went on to work for legends in the industry."
