A side scrolling hack and slasher in a dystopian cyberpunk/giger-esque world with deep fighting game mechanics and an incredibly compelling story!

This game has been in development for over a year and we cannot be any more excited to FINALLY be able to share the news with everyone! We've been hard at work creating the soundscape for quite some time. Please check out the announcement trailer and give it a thumbs up!

We just got a new toy! The Sanken CO-100K. It's a small diaphragm condensor microphone that records up to 100KHz! 🤯 To put that into perspective, most microphones taper off very quickly after 20KHz (which is the upper limit of human hearing).

So why record such high frequencies you ask? Well, sometimes we pitch things down! This video is a comparison from two of our microphones. I (Russell) recorded myself making a monster noise and then slowed it down 200%. Guess which one is the CO-100K! Note: it's pretty easy to tell 😊

Fun Fact! - Have you ever noticed that it's much quieter outside after a good snow? This is due to the acoustic absorptive qualities of snow.

Much like the fibers in fancy baffles and acoustic wall treatment, snowflakes have lots of air pockets that trap and reduce sound waves. The acoustic energy gets converted into heat!

Maybe blasting some sweet tunes in your car will help the snow melt faster! Possibly yelling at the snow when your car gets stuck will clear road, we all know that angry sounds create more heat, right??

The Road to Atmos: Part 3
It's been a while! In-between our upgrades to Atmos, we are still working on projects in the room. The stands are finished and they. Are. BEAUTIFUL! Our entire Atmos array is made up of Yamaha NS10m Studio monitors (plus a subwoofer of course).

Why the NS10s? They translate extraordinarily well to both the theater and home surround sound systems. The speakers also offer an unforgivingly accurate sound with excellent transient reproduction.

We've got 7 out of 11 of them in place and wired up with some 10AWG OFC speaker wire. Next up is to clean up the wiring, install the ceiling speakers, and tune the room! We're excited to share more of the process!

The Road to Atmos: Part 2
Peeling the tape off after painting the speaker stand posts. They're coming out great! Next step is to add finish, then we can ASSEMBLE!!!

In order to control so many speakers, we needed a new piece of gear to accommodate. We chose the new MTRX Studio. It's an I/O and monitor controller all-in-one! It sounds great too!

Snapshot VR, a VR title we've been doing sound design on is having it's first tournament in just 5 minutes! Our very own Russell is participating with a couple other Nashville Game Developers in the tournament! Check out the stream!

The Road to Atmos: Part 1
We are upgrading our studio to Dolby Atmos 7.1.4! First step is to gather all the required equipment. We decided to design our own stands to fit the Dolby requirements exactly. With the help of Russell's dad, we started production!

So far we've got the stands made for the 7 monitors in the 7.1.4 layout. The .1 is a subwoofer that sits on the floor and the .4 is 4 ceiling mounted monitors! Next step is to apply paint and stain. We'll update you with progress!
