I have decided to begin pre-production location scouting here in Cheatham County, Tennessee for the film “”Lucid Dreams”. There are a few local resident musical artists that I have worked with and a few I have not…yet, that I can visualize taking the story to heart…We’ll see?

I am currently in the pre-production phase for a film short based on my feature length screen play “Jack & Jill”. It has a duality of purpose. It will be used for academic assignments, as well as a trailer for the commercial release of the film. I am currently casting for the two main characters. Ideally, they would be identical twins in their mid-20s of European descent. The actor portraying Jack must be a singer. if you know of anyone in the Nashville area that might be interested in this production feel free to mention it to them, and have them contact me for more information.

It’s official! Nashville has been chosen to launch “Hollywood Blvd Films”. As most of my 46 years in the entertainment has involved live music event production, based out of Hollywood, Memphis and Nashville. HB Films intends to initially focus on the need for cinematic film production for musical artists. Music videos, promotional content, biographical narratives, tour coverage and more. I am excited to work again with so many, who I have had the pleasure of working with over the decades. Keep watching for further updates as HBF establishes a studio and office in the “Music Capital of North America”, Nashville Baby!!!

From childhood to the present, I have embraced music and it embraced me. My grandmother graduated with her B.A. degree in the 1920’s. My father was an amateur, but talented singer and musician (played the sax and bone). Most of my friends were musicians, artists or creators. My father loved big bands and jazz his admiration rubbed off on me. The sight of a black 33 &1/3 “Hi-FI vinyl disk spinning out Mancini, Getz, Parker, Bird, Coltrane and many others. By my twenties I was listening to “Return to Forever”, Weather Report, Traffic, Billy Cobham, and others who fused the intricacies of jazz with rock. Join me this Saturday and enjoy!

I am further into the development of “Lucid Dreams”, the film narrative that entertains and explains why you believe you have been here on earth before.
The screenplay will be available to major studio agents to bid for this summer. It will require a $200-300M initial pilot production, with exponential series possibilities.

We are making baby steps in the right direction. I am dedicated to building Hollywood Blvd Films as a long term sustainable and credible business model. It has required me to be paced and patient as I follow existing successful business models examples. As Dolly Parton placed so much value on her “Coat of Many Colors l” I empathize and feel a similar value on my “head’s many hats”, as it requires. It is my intention to distribute the multiple metaphorical hats to those who will wear them and refect the responsibilities the bonnets represent.
Lol…There is a preponderance of metaphors in the previous commentary, however I am confident those who can comprehend the message are the intended recipients.

There is a certain intimacy that I feel with this historical event. I was not able to participate, and provide support for the production at the time, as I was pre-occupied by military duty. Three years later, I had the blessing of being mentored by “Paul Thrasher”, Stax Records VP of A&R and producer for the label. It was Paul who advised this “wanna be” producer to “Get out of Memphis, if I wanted to be a R&R producer someday. He also shared his wisdom regarding the skillsets I would require to earn the respect necessary, by the artists. “Jere, in order for you to be a successful producer you are going to have to understand everything about every aspect of the industry. You look like a producer, act like a producer, talk like a producer, but you must have the respect if those who are a party to your production. You have three choices! New York, London or Hollywood. Those who know me, know which choice I made. 😎🤙🎥🎬🎼🎭

I have to give another thumbs up for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. We had a cool front blow in this afternoon. The kind that changes the usual Central Florida February weather (75-80 degrees), into a bone chilling 50 something…Anyway, it provided a rather wet one hour drenching before the sun set and took the humidity with it. Annette and I had just arrived home and I stepped out of the car, immediately becoming aware of the luminous sky.
I had to capture it! Amazing!
