This is how I feel so I hope you all read this! It’s just my journey and my growth!
I’ve decided to stop celebrating traditional holidays like
Birthdays
Christmas
New Year’s
Easter.
I prefer to express my love and time or effort to give gifts throughout the year and to be their in the flesh for meaningful reasons. Not the turn ups!
When you think about it, many holidays seem designed to enrich retailers while leaving people financially strained.
As for Christmas Jesus bday and gifts….and Easter finding the egg.. Do you even understand what the symbol of the Easter egg means?
New Year’s often brings the same cycle of hope followed by disappointment… You workout until tax time and when the summer hits, your still a big back..
Birthdays feel like a countdown to death… Another year without much significance. You’re waiting on this one day to spend a lot of money so everyone else can enjoy your bday and reap the benefits to celebrate your day. Now if your celebration is more than just turning up, I may be there. But just know that I will not tell anyone happy birthday but my son and mom. My son don’t understand yet and mom don’t either lol. I don’t want to get yelled at!!
I believe in celebrating myself every day and my growth instead. As well as the people in my life that matters to me. The rest of you, I wish you all the best but I have no room for fake news or trends.
My beliefs and outlook on life have evolved, so if you wish me a happy birthday or give me a gift, know that it’s not necessary. I’ll acknowledge it because I’m welled mannered. I appreciate the few who do every year that give me gifts, but don’t be expecting anything in return for birthdays.
Far as the kids if I’m in town I’ll pull up but I’ll probably do something for them in general. Like if they need something their big cuzzo will try and provide it for them.
I’m all for celebrating milestones like weddings,
Giving birth, new babies,
job promotions,
business successes,
strength for progress…
Milestones for better health
Mental milestones
Any kind of accomplishments that makes you a better person or reaching a new level of success for your life.
Etc
Those are the moments that truly deserve recognition for me. I don’t judge, can’t judge! I’m not god but this is definitely my new journey going public
