We had the privilege this week to record the incredible Dolly Parton for a special that will air on CBS. She has to be the most loved American icon of all time and we think she lives up to the hype. She’s the coolest! Michael Davis was the audio producer, .a.n.i.x was the A1, handled Pro Tools duties, and handled A2 duties. What a great crew and a fun shoot!

Great crew on a great gig for an even greater cause. Second year in a row working the West Texas Rehab telethon in Abilene raising money for occupational and physical therapy for folks in need of this type of care. First time mixing music on a CL5 and not gonna lie, it’s not bad. The Yamaha premium rack plugins are pretty nice.

Had a great time last week down in Atlanta for the Urban One Honors. So many great performers honoring iconic artists and actors. A highlight of the night was a performance by CeeLo and Killer Mike. Legends!

Such a good time mixing Alabama for CMT Giants tonight. Some great acts came out to play to honor this incredibly influential band at the beautiful Fisher Center in Nashville. .a.n.i.x pushed the faders around, hacker EIC’d the truck Vibration, Michael Davis was the captain of ship as the audio producer, and Scott Brown were our killer music A2’s, Brando Marius held down the fort, and rocked the production A2 duties, Steve Johnson was the A1, and Jason Glass was our killer RF coordinator. Tons of other great folks on the audio crew made this show happen and we are grateful to have been a part of this historic show.

First show of the year in the books and it was a good one! Fitz and the Tantrums along with The Head and the Heart was a fun combo to mix for the TNT Breakaway show during the NHL Winter Classic game in Seattle. .a.n.i.x and making it happen on truck Vibration.

Just when we thought we were done for the year a client asks if we can help with routing a bunch of asynchronous MADI signal to and from a lot of sources. Why yes, yes we can! Thanks to these 2 PRODIGY frames in our inventory, we can take in and spit out signals from differently clocked sources at different sample rates and ship them to several destinations via coax, multimode, or single mode MADI. Thanks for the call

.a.n.i.x and captured some content together this week at the beautiful Fisher Center in Nashville. Best control room we have even been in for a fly pack shoot. Sound proofing, climate control, and dimmable lites? So spoiled on this one. This was a great way to wrap up 2023 as this was the last show on the books until 2024. Hope to cross paths with you all in 2024, until then, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Had some fun a couple days ago hanging out with and of downtown. Tune in tonight on Amazon Prime Video to hear Tom’s killer mix of Garth Brooks at his new bar downtown. Should be a great show! I was only there for a day filling in for , but I somehow managed to get my hands deep into the belly of the beast. Hey JJ, I moved some stuff around for you, good luck finding what I hid for you. Jk. 😂

New DANTE.IO card and 4 MIC8.LINE.IO modules added to our PRODIGY.MP. This rack is heading out for the next 5 weeks to support OSA and one of their clients. This guy will be handling matrix duties for the many routes needed for this show. We never thought we’d post so many pics of gear (maybe boring, I know) but these devices are so impressively powerful and solid, it’s hard to not appreciate the engineering and technology behind such a valuable tool.

Really fun week for Method Audio out in Denver. .a.n.i.x mixed and for the NBA opener on TNT. It was really cool getting to meet and hang with (producer/engineer/all around audio and music guru) from The Chainsmokers’ camp. It’s always a good time getting to work with people with great ears who love music and know what they are doing and what they want and how to communicate it. did a fantastic job (as always) engineering the truck Vibration, while managed the records and liaising with artists camps for this one. managed all of the audio in the field for us as well as truck to truck audio bits. Our PRODIGY.MP was a few miles away this week at Red Rocks as the front end and MADI router/SRC for a filmed recording while TNDV provided their new MP to handle band MADI splits and all truck to truck routing and SRC for this TNT show.

‘Twas a busy week for us in Denver. Our brand new PRODIGY.MP was at another shoot at Red Rocks with and Steve Johnson. Our MP is currently configured with MADI BNC, SC, and dual MADI SFP modules along with a Ravenna card. For this show it handled all of the MADI routing in and out of the truck as well as SRC from the band MADI splits into the truck. With HD SRC, we are sitting at around only 1.6ms of delay and just .15ms using FastSRC. We love both of our PRODIGY devices (the other being an MC) and can’t wait to get an MX to round out our inventory. Meanwhile, .a.n.i.x was a few miles away in downtown Denver mixing The Chainsmokers and Dermot Kennedy for the NBA opener on TNT last night. Another PRODIGY.MP was utilized for the same purpose getting signal into the music truck and signals back and forth to the TV truck.

A few weeks ago .a.n.i.x and recorded an incredible performance by for the . I think we will all be fans of Stephen for many years to come. Amazing voice, great songs, killer stage presence, and just a nice guy.

As always, our PRODIGY.MC pres captured some rich tones and our LV1 made monitoring and generating a mix for the director and production a breeze. We love this little compact fly pack with .protools E speakers headphones shotguns and computers.

A few more snaps from the People’s Choice Country Awards live on . So grateful for for trusting .a.n.i.x with the music mix for this inaugural show. It’s so much fun getting to work with such a talented and prolific producer, mixer, and engineer. Chip Matthews, thanks for your massively musical ears and guidance and for shaping this show into what it was.

One new element that was new to us on this show were some amazing we used for audience mics. They were smooth, rich, and extremely balanced. We’ll tell you the model number later once they are officially released. We’ll definitely be scooping some up!

Last night we had a great time putting on a really fun (new) award show for . Team audio did a stellar job! was our hardworking, smart as hell audio EIC on truck Vibration, his counterpart on the production truck Exclamation is equally talented and intelligent - .a.n.i.x handled the broadcast music mix, crushed it in the A1 chair, Rick Shimer of shook the seats in the house for the people, did a killer job mixing monitors for all of our artists, and made EVERYTHING on the stage happen for the many music elements, and the show would have been impossible without them, handled Pro Tools record duties and lent his talented ears yet again to help refine the mixes, Joe Calabrese coordinated sooooo many channels of RF to pull off a flawless show, crushed it as the patch master, Greg Mackey ran the broadcast division crew (who always kill it) as well as programmed and managed all of the on-site comm, .pulse was our talented sweetener for this show, Matt McElroy handled all of the audio playback elements, Robert Hill and Charlie Campbell were our incredible production A2’s wrangling all of the chaotic mic traffic and all of the truck compound interconnect among other things under the hood. If anyone was missed in the post please tag them. Thanks to everyone here for an amazing inaugural broadcast! We fooled ‘em again.

Stoked to finally hear and see the finished product of a really fun show we got to help capture for Apple Music Live in July in support of our new friend (who was the lead recording engineer for this project). Dominic Fike is the real deal. He put on a killer show and we had a lot of fun getting to listen to him absolutely crush this performance in Atlanta. Dre’s PRODIGY.MP loaded with MADI and Ravenna cards flawlessly recorded this 128 channel show into 3 machines. Check out this performance on Apple TV and listen on Music.

We had a great week in Atlanta mixing this show and hanging with so many of our production friends. It’s always a blast working with who handled Pro Tools and some A2 duties for us on this one. did a stellar job as the audio producer and coordinator (and FOH mixer and playback and… so many other things). Thanks for bringing us in to help out on this event! is always great to work with and this truck, “Exclamation”, is one of our favorites!

Thanks to for introducing the newest tool into our inventory. We’re really digging this “Decibel” plug-in from . It’s a fully customizable metering plug-in that can operate in standalone or be instantiated into your favorite DAW. We’re using it on a broadcast this week in standalone mode by feeding a Dante signal of the line mix into a MacBook Pro via virtual sound card. Using this iPad as an extended monitor that has its own customized layout separate from the layout on the host computer. Loving it so far.

Was scrolling through some old photos and this nice little memory popped up of a Jack White performance .a.n.i.x mixed last fall for the Loretta Lynn tribute live on CMT. What a great show honoring the memory of such an influential country music icon. Jack and his band were killer and it was so cool to get to mix him on the Opry stage for this special broadcast.

Sent out our PRODIGY.MC to handle coaxial MADI to multimode fiber MADI conversion with SRC on the front end for re-clocking for a 2 day, multi act shoot at Red Rocks. Sad we can’t be on site this year for the festivities due to some scheduling conflicts, but we are certainly happy to help our client capture this audio with the help of managing the interconnect between guest acts and the music mix truck via this powerful device. We just added the SC.IO fiber module and we’re stoked to have more options for format conversion and transport. The intuitive Globcon software makes programming and routing fast and seamless. Couldn’t be more happy with this frame.

Had fun this week getting to help record audio for the Stellar Awards in Las Vegas. Steve Johnson of Pulse Post Audio (http://www.pulsepostaudio.com) will be mixing the show which will air in a couple of weeks. It’s always fun getting to hang with my Nashville based broadcast buddies on a shoot out of town. pictured here holding down the Audio EIC duties like a boss, (not pictured cause I suck at remembering to take photos) making all things audio happen on deck for the TV crew, provided the mobile unit Exclamation, which is always a good time with at the helm as the EIC making ALL of the bits come together and work. So many peeps on this show from camera ops, to lighting, set designers, and utilities. provided the house PA, control and mic package, and house audio crew making all of the audio bits smooth and easy for us TV folk. was there making things look really pretty. Last but not least, thanks to for tech producing the show and making everything come together for us so we can do what we do with not only the best technical tools, but a positive environment to boot (and thanks again for the b-day lunch! ☺️) If you were also there and are reading this, feel free to tag yourself or a friend because I wanna make sure we’re following you!

Finally finished (for the most part) a mix suite I’m happy with. treatment along with the ST2 Pro is lovely! These near fields have never sounded better. I’m looking to add a short throw projector for video and/or an extended monitor for the wall behind the Samsung if anyone has recommendations. Found a few that seem promising sans the fan noise. I’m also likely going to add an UF8 and UF1 soon, but talk me off the ledge if you all think it’s a bad idea or if I should just pull the trigger on an S1 or 2. 😂

It’s nice getting to do a shoot with some great friends, at a great facility, with some great weather. It’s rare that we get to enjoy the surroundings in such a chill setting while also putting in some decent work to capture some great musical performances. 6 acts in 3 days with a stellar crew and some stellar performances. With and a ton of other great folks. Good times indeed!

Finally had the chance to try out this headphone amp and I’m super impressed. It seems to open up the stereo field somehow and adds clarity compared to some built-in console and record device headphone amps I was able to A-B on this shoot. Seems the dynamic range was also somehow improved.

Bit of a different vibe for us this week, but a fun one nonetheless! and .a.n.i.x worked the Vanderbilt University graduation providing the livestream mix which included the usual talking head situation of a graduation along with some musical accompaniment bits sprinkled throughout the ceremony.

The PRODIGY.MC stage box was our front end for all inputs with our LV1 handling the music sub-mix and additional processing for dialog, etc. into the Calrec Artemis via MADI. Worked like a charm and was a fun way to pull off a show.

Thanks to and for having us out to play! We were initially slated to do the show on campus, but due to weather were forced to punt and pull off a contingency plan and complete rebuild at Bridgestone Arena. TNDV and all of the other vendors did an incredible job with the help of an insanely talented and hard working crew.
