Been figuring out how to varnish gouache on canvas so that its water proof and lasts longer. So I'm doing these tiny paintings to get it down proper. Did this one on stream the other day, was very enjoyable. Sometimes its nice to paint something simple, and not always a 15- 40 hour project.

Was trying out gouache on canvas and sealing it with varnish. Wanted to start small so I didnt mess up a large painting. Turns out it works with a quick sealer coat first! Pumped about this being a thing so that I don't have to switch to acrylic to paint all my canvases.

Recent little gouache painting of this fantasy landscape. Really enjoyed how this came out. When you separate them they are 4 little readable paintings. Figured out how to varnish them up so they don’t need to be on paper and scared of water forever or framed all the time.

Most recent painting from stream. This started out as an inktober idea but then I didn't finish it until november. The prompt was "discover" and this is what came to mind. Done in mostly gouache on paper.

I couldn’t believe my ears when they announced backyard tornado for first place today!! It always surprises me which paintings stand out the most to people. This was inspiring! Thank you so much for everyone who made today happen, and congrats to all the other artists who won!

Officially set up at burns park for art in the park. I have a raffle going on today. For only a dollar enter in to win one of my big prints! Just come fill out one of the tickets. Raffling off Rainbow snail, Moss Giants, and Wraith Invasion. Winner will be drawn at 3:00pm!

A little fan art project done of Blackreach from elderscrolls. A little tribute to my favorite universe. Done in watercolor on 7" x 10" paper.

Here's the recent Skyrim fan art adventure, "Blackreach Caverns". Its fun trying these dark themes in watercolor. I tried adding iconic things such as the crimson nirnroot, a dwarven sphere, and a welkyd Stone. If you know you know lol. It's been my favorite universe since I was a kid so it felt right to give a tribute. Definitely won't be the last. This is another smaller one at 7" x 10". The original and prints will be available on my website at planetjoachim.com by tomorrow morning at 8am. Or give the rest of the options a look. Most come in multiple size and price options for all wallet power levels.

Here was the plein air painting that got me second place at the competition last week. Been meaning to upload it. The lighting in the other pictures didn’t do it justice. This was watercolor on art board paper. Had a blast doing this! I could’ve worked on this painting for another hour. Admittedly, I ran it down to the last minute, having the pressure of a timer was a thrill. There are some things I didn’t get to in it, but I don’t want to add anything, to me it’s a tribute to what I was able to capture within the given challenge. Thanks again to Fairview Arts Community for making this happen! This will be available as a print and the original on my store tomorrow morning at 8am.

I placed 2nd in the Plein Air competition today!! Can’t believe it! Thank you so much to the Fairview Arts Community for having me be part of this competition. Also thank you to everyone who watched the live stream of it too! Definitely will take y’all out to paint in the woods more - that was fun!
