This song has meant a great deal to me. My father is thankfully still here, but several lines in this song made me think of my uncle Michael. He was a great mentor and friend to me. A beautifully written song, honoring the father figures in our lives.

Always interesting working on acoustic driven recordings, making sure the track doesn’t feel empty, but not overdoing the production to the point of distraction. This song proves that it’s all about the writing. We didn’t have to try hard in producing this track. The song led us where it wanted to go.

Pulled an old plug-in off the shelf to try to get the lead vocal sit in the mix like it should. Vocal preset, turned down the output of match level. It was absolutely perfect. Slept on Parallel Particles for too long! It’s actually one of the first Waves plugins I ever purchased! Try it out!
