Cadence + Co. is a daughter/dad CCM duo from Naples, FL. Having grown up in a family of musicians, music was found to be something that came naturally for Cadence. At the early age of nine, she began playing drums and, by the age of ten, was playing in the church worship band that her dad, Billy, led. As the years progressed, Cadence also began singing duets with her dad in church and recording cover songs on YouTube. One of their duet cover recordings reached 27,000 plays, and one of Cadence’s drum cover recordings reached 35,000 plays. In 2024, the duo decided to launch as a music artist. Cadence is passionate about music and currently serves as one of the drummers/vocalists at her church where she also interns alongside the worship director.

Billy is a singer/songwriter and producer that has been writing Christian music for 20 years. Over the last 20 years he has written and co-written many songs that have gained notable success. His most recent co-writing success was with the band Love Like Gravity’s “Break the Silence” album; many of the songs on the album charted on the Christian Music Weekly. Two of the songs made the top 100 of the year; “Devil’s in the Details” came in at #4, and “Grind” at #12.

Their debut song, titled “Miracle,” which was written and produced by Billy, features Cadence on drums and vocals and Billy on guitars and vocals. The song is meant to be a beacon of hope and encouragement to those walking through life’s storms. In staying true to its title, “Miracle,” Clarence Pind is featured on the track, too (steel guitar). Clarence (Cadence’s Papa) experienced a dissected aorta and stroke in 2020; doctors referred to him as the “miracle man,” because of the low survival rate for people experiencing what he went through. Miraculously, he survived and is featured in this song as a testimony.

The first verse of the song references Matthew 8:25-27, in which Jesus’ disciples are in a boat being tossed by a great storm. In a state of fear and panic they waken Jesus and exclaim “Save Us, Lord; we are perishing.” Jesus said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” “Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying, what sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?”

Life brings many storms, but in the midst of those storms we can find peace knowing God is in control of all situations, and the name of Jesus still has the power to save. “”For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”” (Matthew 17:20-21).

The chorus of “Miracle” says, “If faith can calm the waves in the sea, then faith can calm the storm inside of me;” that is the message “Miracle” seeks to drive home to those who hear it.
