Time for some introductions:

Hey friends, I’m Chad. By day (and many times by night), I’m a sound designer, editor and producer.

For as long as I can remember, sound has been an integral and consistent character in my life—and what I’ve ultimately decided to dedicate my energy and attention to.

A few years back I started this boutique sound post-production studio, Sound On Studios, with the aim to make the world a more beautifully-sounding place by helping guide others to find sound that aligns with their true message and story.

When I’m not MAKING sound, I’m actively consuming it, typically in the form of a vinyl record, podcast or audiobook. And typically there’s a fresh pour over with me as well.

Thanks for being here and following along with the work we do. I’m grateful for you.

Whether you want to create a single podcast or you’re a network with the desire for consistent sound across all your shows, our studio is here to support your needs.

In 2021, we helped the publishing company “A Kids Co.” launch a podcast network with the mission to make podcasts for kids and grown-ups to discover, explore, and understand their world. In under 2 years, we helped them launch 11 different shows with over 350 episodes. Their flagship show, “A Kids Podcast About,” was even named one of Apple’s Best Podcasts in 2021.

This is what Matthew Winner, former Head of Podcasts at A Kids Co. had to say about working with us:

“Working with Chad and the team at Sound On was truly an unlock for us. Not only are we able to produce high-quality, engaging podcasts for kids and grownups, but there is a clear brand identity across our network in how the shows are engineered. The Sound On team has helped each show find its unique voice and has helped to sound design shows that can be returned to over and over. I’m grateful for Chad establishing what feels less like a client relationship and more like a collaboration.”

How can we help you develop a clear brand identity for your podcast or network of shows? What audio products do you need help bringing to life?

“Untold Stories: Black and Missing,” is making a profound impact in the true-crime domain. The show received the distinguished 2024 CrimeCon Clue Award for Outstanding Episodic Series, solidifying its status as a top podcast in its genre. The podcast also recently won 2 Gold Telly Awards in the 45th Annual Telly Awards.

Our studio helped BAMFI Enterprises create and launch the show in 2023, and have played an integral role in the sound editing, design, and mixing of each episode.

In 2022, Metaleap Creative founders, José and Nikolle Reyes, launched a podcast to delve into the generational divide on how to approach creative work culture with a new mindset.

The podcast—Right Mind at Work—features six heart-to-heart exchanges with trusted cultural voices, covering topics like workplace apathy and toxicity, mentoring, achieving mastery and collaboration, all in an attempt to better understand what it means to shift one’s thinking to have the right mind at work.

Our team worked with Metaleap to develop the overall sound of the podcast, while also editing and mixing each episode.

If your brand needs a refresh, check out the thoughtful and beautiful work that Metaleap is doing, and if you’re in need of some workplace inspiration, we’d highly recommend you check out their podcast.

Over the last year our studio has been working with the Center for Action and Contemplation on Father Richard Rohr’s podcast, Everything Belongs.

Richard Rohr is an author, Franciscan friar, ecumenical teacher, and also the founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation.

In each episode of Everything Belongs, CAC staff, teachers, and guests join Fr. Richard on a journey through his foundational teachings on contemplative Christianity and mysticism.

The podcast will help you discover how to embody Fr. Richard’s wisdom and teachings in your daily life, co-creating a world where everything and everyone belongs.

What we’re listening to:

There are great sound-related podcasts that will take you on an epic aural journey. Our favorite is probably Twenty Thousand Hertz (20k.org), a podcast that tells the stories behind the world’s most recognizable and interesting sounds.

Hosted by Dallas Taylor of Defacto Sound, the podcast takes a deep dive into the creation of some of the most iconic sounds: the NBC chime, the Netflix “ta-dum,” and one of the more recent episodes unpacks TikTok’s “boom-bling” sonic logo.

It’s a fun and informative podcast that showcases the impact of sound and what an important ingredient it is in the world around us.

What about you? Have you listened to Twenty Thousand Hertz? Do you have any other favorite sound-related podcasts that we should check out?

We’ve always said that the world would be a better place if it had more people like Tim Schurrer in it. His mindful obsession with leadership is infectious and he has a joyful way of bringing out the best in everyone who works with him.

We have been working with Tim on various podcasts ever since we first started as a studio. In fact, our first potential client meeting was with Tim, who at the time was working with Donald Miller as the COO at StoryBrand.

These days we get to work with Tim on the How Leaders’s Lead podcast with David Novak, but before we jumped into that gig we got to help Tim launch his very own podcast around the launch of his first book, “The Secret Society of Success.”

If you want to improve your leadership game, Tim is one of the top people to mirror. Get his book, listen to his podcast, and stay connected to the incredible work he’s currently doing with David Novak Leadership.

Molly Fletcher was once referred to as “the female Jerry Maquire.”

As a former top sports agent, Molly knows what it takes to help the world’s greatest athletes reach their full potential, and she now uses that same framework to help leaders in all walks of life.

During her almost two-decade career where she served as President of CSE, Molly negotiated over $500 million in contracts, representing over 300 of of the biggest names in sports, including Hall of Fame pitcher John Smoltz, PGA TOUR golfer Matt Kuchar, broadcaster Erin Andrews, and basketball championship coaches Tom Izzo and Doc Rivers.

Now, Molly is a speaker, author, and founder and host of the Game Changers with Molly Fletcher podcast, where she interviews experts and celebrities in every field, including Arthur Blank, Dabo Swinney, John Mackey, Matthew McConaughey, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Simon Sinek.

We’ve been working with Molly on her podcast since 2017 and love the valuable leadership and business insights she offers on each episode. If you’re looking for an inspiring and fun podcast to help you grow as a leader, give Molly a follow and start listening to the 200+ episodes she’s released. You can also pre-order her upcoming book (—> swipe to see the cover) for more great wisdom.

One of the things we love about working with podcasts is that each host and show have a blank canvas to work with every time they create an episode. For some, it’s all about a conversation with a guest. For others, it’s a chance to do a deep dive into their scope of genius and help the listener gain a valuable insight or lesson. And then for some hosts, it’s all about creating a unique experience that takes listeners on an immersive journey.

With Monica DiCristina, it’s a combination of all the above. Monica is a therapist, writer, and speaker, with a passion for helping individuals and couples overcome past and present unproductive patterns and establish emotional safety and connection. Her podcast, Still Becoming, is dedicated to the notion that we are not designed to stay the same, we are all still becoming. It’s never too late to become more free, more yourself—to try something new.

Each month, Monica creates a variety of episodes including reflective stories, mental health check-ins, guided meditations, and interviews. Monica and her guests share and make space for vulnerable and memorable stories that inspire hope, make an impact, and promote emotional growth and healing in both the storyteller and the listener.

Our studio is proud to work alongside Monica to help bring her beautiful words and thoughts to life through the Still Becoming podcast. Give it a listen wherever you listen to your podcasts and visit MonicaDiCristina.com to read more of her work and to sign up for her wonderful newsletter.

As an audio production studio, we pride ourselves on being able to work with a wide range of clients across vastly different industries who all share the same goal: effectively and professionally communicate their message to an audience.

And our job is simple—we want to give the microphone to the voices and brands who have something meaningful to say, while helping them sound great in the process.

This is why we’ve enjoyed working with Jennifer VanOrman on Season 1 of her podcast, Jennifer VanOrman and Friends.

Jen—or JVO as we like to call her—is a licensed therapist who has been practicing in our home city of Nashville for over 15 years. She has a personal story filled with trauma, addiction, and loss, and developed this podcast to encourage anyone who wants to begin—or is already—on their healing journey.

Go search for the Jennifer VanOrman and Friends Podcast on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts, because no matter where you are on your own healing journey, there’s still work to do, and Jen is inviting you to do the work together with her.

At the start of 2023, we began working with executive, writer, producer, and founder of The Optimism Institute, Bill Burke, to help him launch a new podcast called Blue Sky.

Bill Burke founded The Optimism Institute in 2022 after an extensive media and sports career as an executive, writer, and producer. Bill served as CEO of The Weather Channel Companies after several years at Time Warner/Turner Broadcasting System, where he was the founding general manager of Turner Classic Movies before going on to become president of TBS Superstation. Additionally, for fifteen years he was the co-owner and chairman of the Portland Sea Dogs, the double-A Minor League Baseball affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.

As a writer, Bill co-authored Ted Turner’s top-10 New York Times bestselling autobiography “Call Me Ted” and later co-wrote/produced/directed “Live Another Day,” an award-winning feature-length documentary on the bailout of the U.S. auto industry.

Bill is a lifelong optimist (he has to be—he’s a Detroit Lions fan) and launched The Optimism Institute with a mission to inspire people with an optimistic, hopeful vision of the world and its future.

We’re so thankful for our ongoing partnership with Bill and Blue Sky, and encourage you to check out his podcast if you haven’t already.

For the last couple of years, we’ve had a front row seat to the world’s top leaders, listening to them discuss leadership, business, strategy, relationships, (even golf!), with the legend himself, David Novak.

Our studio edits and mixes David’s weekly podcast, How Leaders Lead. Each episode features conversations with top voices in the industry, like Tom Brady, Dan Hurley, Val Ackerman, David Solomon, Patrick Lencioni, Steve Kerr, Indra Nooyi, Stanley Druckenmiller, Deion Sanders, Oscar Munoz, Jesse Cole, Yamini Rangan, Ken Langone, Jon Rahm, Peyton Manning, Jim Nantz, and so many more.

David has a new book out this week called How Leaders Learn: Master the Habits of the World’s Most Successful People.

Order your copy and then make sure you add How Leaders Lead to your weekly podcast rotation. Our team is so grateful to play a role in helping tell these inspiring stories from such incredible leaders.

We’re thrilled to announce our new partnership with Telos, a group that forms peacemakers and seeks to transform conflict, primarily in Israel/Palestine, but also throughout the entire world. Our team is now working with their podcast network, The Telos Channel, across three different shows, including Undaunted, The Check-In, and The Learning Corps, the latter two of which are actively releasing new episodes.

In 2012, our studio’s founder took a trip with Telos to Israel/Palestine to meet with leaders, hear stories, and work toward establishing a new narrative: pro-Israel, pro-Palestine, pro-peace. On that trip (—> swipe to see a few pictures) they took a drive out to the Gaza border (last pic) and looked out across the walls, fences, and armed checkpoints. It breaks our heart to think of what that land looks like today and the thousands of lives that have been lost in this conflict.

Throughout it all, Telos continues to be a trusted voice as they envisage a time beyond the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, where diverse communities of American peacemakers will stand with both Palestinians and Israelis to sustain dignity, freedom, and security for all.

We’re grateful for the meaningful work they do and to be working with them on the podcasts they create through The Telos Channel. If you don’t already, give them a follow and support their mission.
