There were more than 200 submissions for the contest.

“Public safety is not just a responsibility of the school itself or police officers. It’s a community responsibility and students are a part of that community,” said Aurora Police Department Chief Keith Cross.

School District 204 had a school safety contest where students created posters or PSAs about the importance of reducing school threats.
