The Whalers got back in the win column Monday with a 41–33 victory over the Seahawks.

Marin Mooney scored a team-high 13 points for Nantucket, followed by Grace Schroeder with 11 points.

The Whalers’ busy schedule continues tomorrow at home against Rising Tide.

The Whalers held on to a 64-59 victory on the basketball court for Nantucket’s first win of the season.

The Whalers split Saturday’s match-up in the pool, with the girls winning 99-57 and the boys losing 76-79.

Much better effort from the Whalers in game two of the season, but they fall to the Sharks 9-3 on Wednesday to drop to 0-2 on the year.

Nantucket is off until after Christmas, when the Whalers hit the road for the North Quincy Holiday Tournament.

After two long years, the Island Cup is coming home!

The Whalers outlasted the Vineyarders to win 22-14 Tuesday at Fenway Park for Nantucket’s first Island Cup victory since 2021.

Arann Hanlon scored the touchdown and two-point conversion in OT, while QB Burke Lombardi connected with WR Eli MacIver and David Guillen-Taveras ran the ball in for the Whalers’ other touchdowns.

Over 500 runners and walkers participated in Sunday’s Run for Robin 5K at the Sconset Casino, the Harvey Foundation’s 10th annual fundraiser in honor of Robin Harvey.

Harvey, a three-term School Committee member, community volunteer and former softball and basketball coach, was struck and killed by a car while training for the Boston Marathon in the winter of 2014.

The Harvey Foundation, founded by her children, has raised over $140,000 with the annual Run for Robin to support scholarships for island students, free athletic gear for those in need and a community meal group, among other programs.

The annual powderpuff flag football game between the junior and senior girls was held Wednesday at Vito Capizzo Stadium. The seniors won 22-8.

📸 from football vs Hull!!

The Whalers beat the Pirates 35-7 in Saturday’s non-playoff match-up.

Nantucket dominated on the ground, with rushing touchdowns for David Guillen-Taveras (2), Brady Tilton, Eli MacIver and David Cirillo.

The Whalers have one more game on the schedule, next Tuesday’s Island Cup against Martha’s Vineyard, scheduled for 5 p.m. at Fenway Park.

📸 from boys soccer playoffs!!

The Whalers experienced both the highs and lows of playoff soccer over a span of about 25 minutes in Tuesday’s double overtime loss to Frontier Regional in the Div. 4 state tournament round of 32.

Calvin Guevara scored Nantucket’s lone goal in the final minutes of the second half to tie the game 1-1, but the Red Hawks won the game off a corner kick in the second overtime period, ending the Whalers’ season.

📸 from volleyball playoffs at Sandwich!!

The Whalers’ season came to an end Sunday with a 3-0 loss to the Blue Knights in the Div. 4 state tournament round of 32.

Sandwich won in straight sets 25-14, 26-24, 25-9.

The Whalers will graduate six seniors: Rihanna Cranston, Leah Crowley, Magdalis Gonzalez, Lyric Pearl, Vicky Todorova, and Ashley Vizioli.

The nine-seed Whalers opened their state tournament run at home Saturday with a 1-0 win over 24-seed Westport in the Div. 4 round of 32.

Senior captain Maddie Lombardi scored the lone goal of the game for Nantucket off a penalty corner.

The Whalers will advance to the round of 16, where they will go on the road to face eight-seed Quabbin Regional, scheduled for Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.

The Whalers lost 34-20 on the road Saturday, eliminating them from playoff contention.

Arann Hanlon scored a pair of touchdowns, one on the ground and one through the air. Burke Lombardi also scored a TD on a QB sneak.

Meanwhile the boys and girls soccer and field hockey teams traveled to Martha’s Vineyard on Saturday for the second-annual Battle in the Atlantic, where each team competed for the Golden Anchor trophy.

The field hockey team won 5-0 to hold on to the Golden Anchor, with goals from Evie Phelps (2), Maddie Lombardi, Sam Zadroga and Sadie Paterson.

The Whalers boys soccer team won its first Golden Anchor, defeating the Vineyarders in penalty kicks after a scoreless 80 minutes. The game will officially go down as a 0-0 tie in the standings.

The girls soccer team lost 2-0, allowing a goal and a penalty kick score late in the second half.

The Whalers celebrated senior day on Thursday with their highest-scoring win of the season 10-1 over the Seahawks, led by six goals from Adney Brannigan for a double hat-trick.

After the game Nantucket recognized seniors Brannigan, Gianna Quinn and Taylor Bistany.

The Whalers, now 9-4-3 on the year, will wrap up the regular season with road games at Martha’s Vineyard on Saturday and at Dennis-Yarmouth on Wednesday.

The Whalers won their final home game of the regular season on Tuesday 5-1 with five different goal scorers for Nantucket: Claire Genthner, Carley Ray, Caroline Collette, Suz Peraner and Evie Phelps.

The Whalers, now 12-2-2 on the year, are scheduled to close out the regular season with road games Thursday at Dennis-Yarmouth and Saturday at Martha’s Vineyard before the state tournament begins next week.

The Whalers celebrated senior day this weekend with a pair of wins on the field hockey and soccer fields.

Boys soccer beat Falmouth Academy 4-0 Saturday behind a hat-trick for Jake Johnson and one goal from Jason Ayala.

Field hockey won 2-0 Sunday against Marshfield, with goals scored by Sam Zadroga and Suz Peraner.
