In this Wavemaker Conversations Live @ The Dreamland episode, host Michael Schulder interviews Russian-American journalist Julia Ioffe about the little-known aspects of Putin’s life and rule that are of great consequence. The conversation also covers Julia’s insights on US-Russia relations, national security, and her personal journey, which began as a child in Russia before the collapse of the Soviet Union.

He’s hoping to meet and interview fellow Nantucketers attending this historic event.

Join virtually on FEBRUARY 3. Please note that the ZOOM registration link has also changed.

The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) and the Nantucket Select Board will host a public information Zoom webinar on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 5:00 PM. The webinar will feature the Select Board and Town staff as panelists.

This info session was previously scheduled for mid-January. Due to the volume of questions received by BSEE, more time was needed to process and prepare responses adequately.

Nantucket Whalers Girls Basketball vs. Cape Cod Academy Seahawks - January 7, 2025

Nantucket Sports Connection presents the Whalers Varsity Girls Basketball squad (0-2) as they play their second home game of the season, and the first of 2025, with a league matchup against the Seahawks (1-2) from Cape Cod Academy.

These two teams split their meetups according to home-court advantage last season. The Whalers fell on the road 38-18 on Dec. 7, then got their revenge a few weeks later with a 35-30 victory on Jan. 11 here at home. Overall, these two teams have an even record since 2018.

Live coverage begins at 4:45 pm with the tipoff scheduled for 5:00 from John J. O'Neill Gymnasium.

This video premiered for Nantucket by Design 2021, celebrates Nantucket’s architecture, remarkable history, natural beauty, and unique sense of place and harmony in American design. Here, we spotlight exceptional antique homes on Main Street and tell the stories of the people who built and lived in them. Beautifully preserved, these homes are still lived in today.

Nantucket is a treasure trove of historic homes. The Nantucket Historic District encompasses the entire island and was designated to the National Register of Historic Places in 1966. Nantucket has over 800 pre-Civil War buildings and has been called the “finest surviving example of an early New England seaport.”

To conduct an exit poll centered on Nantucket voters, NCTV partnered with Nancy Christie's Honors Government class at Nantucket High School (NHS). This behind-the-scenes video shows how the Honors Gov. students were able to poll over 350 Nantucket voters in one day. It also provides a glimpse of how the students collaborated with exit poll designer & NHS graduate JohnCarl McGrady to create the exit poll. Check out the results on our previous post.
