2024 has been one for the books. Looking back, it’s incredible to see how much was accomplished in just a year’s time. This year was characterized by the milestone of more than doubling our studio space and transforming both the atmosphere and recording experience of our studio. As you can tell from the photos, A LOT of time and effort was put into this endeavor with the help of so many amazing friends along the way. I remember saying when we began the process back in February, “it’d be awesome if we could have this ready by the end of the year,” and here we are. I can’t wait to put this room to solid use in 2025 and cannot wait to see what this next year has in store. Happy New Year from your friends at CJD Studios!

It’s official, folks—the renovation project of our new live room is complete! After months of work transforming the space, we’re excited to announce that the room is now fully functional, and more than doubles the size of our original studio. While we’ll continue to add to and evolve the space over time, the hard work is complete and it is ready for use. Thank you to each and every one of you who lent a hand and put countless hours into making this project happen. You know who you are!! We couldn’t have done it without you guys. We can’t wait to begin using this room for various studio projects, and we hope you are too! Will you be one of the first to record your next project in this room??

The hardwood floor refinish is now complete! With how much wear and tear this floor took over 70 years time, I will admit I had my doubts on how well this would turn out. The end result 100% exceeded my expectations. It has a beautiful rustic look that adds so much more warmth and vibrancy to the room and completely transformed how this room feels. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Only a few more steps to go before this room is ready for full time use… 🤙

Some improv recording in the unfinished live room over the weekend! This was such a fun way to start breaking in this new room, and let me tell you…the room acoustics in here are already sounding amazing. With a little bit of acoustic treatment as the renovations progress this room will sound incredible. I cannot wait to continue to put this room to use and capture some great quality audio for our clients.

Doing some post production re-amping of the bass track recorded in-house by @bryanrevived a few weeks back on his song “Bury Me”! Really wanted to get that incredible @ampeg bass tone in the mix for this track. Re-amping a signal is a great studio trick to change the tone and sound of an already recorded track during the mixing process.
