Dior is a beautiful, loving dog with a past that has unfortunately made her feel insecure with her surroundings 😢. She met with a canine behavioralist recently who was able to really help us understand her more and work on that insecurity. He spent a good amount of time with her and in that time, we saw her change. She was all of the sudden secure and happy. She is not "healed" of her trauma by any means, as this will not be a one day, one week, or even a one month fix but it was a great start. She will need training that can first be done with the behavioralist and then continued with you (he trains you on what she needs). He tells us that it's usually the people that need "refreshers". He also told us that she is unbelievably intelligent and it was clear as he gave her corrections. She immediately started making adjustments.
She will need to be in a home that has a privacy fence to prevent her from escaping. She doesn't dig but she can jump surprisingly high for being so little. She will also need to be in a home without young children because they likely will not understand the boundaries she will have at first. Last, she needs someone with a big heart that is willing to stick it out with her. She is so young which makes her future very promising. Please help us find a home for this sweet girl so she can start changing those behaviors without the stressors of shelter life.
