The beloved country music legend is stepping up in a big way to support victims of Hurricane Helene. Dolly has announced she’s donating $1 million from her own bank account to help those impacted by the storm, and she’s calling on all of us to pitch in however we can. 💪🌪️
“Remember when we had the fires, everybody pitched in, tried to do everything that they could.” Dolly said, adding, “I really think that this is a time for me to step up again for all of us to step up and do what we can.”

We set out on an unplanned adventure and ended up "Slaying the Dragon" on the iconic Smoky Mountain Loop! This journey took us through some of the most breathtaking spots in the Southeast and we are here to share the highlights and travel tips for your own magical road trip!
🚗 Our Route:
- Cherokee, NC: Our adventure began in Cherokee, where we soaked in the peaceful serenity of the Oconaluftee River. This picturesque spot is perfect for a quiet moment by the water and is a great starting point for a Smoky Mountain adventure.
- Gatlinburg, TN: From there, we headed into the bustling streets of Gatlinburg. While it’s a lively town with lots to offer, be prepared for crowds—especially during peak season! Consider visiting early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid the rush.
- Pigeon Forge, TN: We planned to cool off at Soaky Mountain Waterpark in Pigeon Forge, but a sudden rain shower redirected our plans. Instead, we found a cozy spot for dinner and enjoyed a delicious meal. Pigeon Forge offers a wide range of dining options and attractions, rain or shine!
- Walland, TN & Foothills Parkway: The journey continued to Walland, where the river glistened like something from a dream. The Foothills Parkway offers some of the most breathtaking mountain views—you will feel like you are on top of the world! This scenic drive is a must do for stunning panoramas.
- The Tail of the Dragon & Tapoco Lodge: Riding the famous "Tail of the Dragon" was a thrilling experience! This road is renowned for its 318 curves in 11 miles—perfect for adventure seekers. We stopped at the historic Tapoco Lodge, where rain and fog added a mystical touch to our day. This lodge is a great rest stop with a charming atmosphere.
- Cheoah Dam: Our adventure took us to the Cheoah Dam, famously featured in the movie "The Fugitive." The mist hanging in the air made it feel like a scene straight out of a film—an eer
