Announcement from Screwball:

I'm sure most of you have heard by now, IMVU's new announcement on requiring VIP for creators to earn cash. This does not personally affect me, in that I already have VIP on three of my accounts, but it does affect the entire, already dying, IMVU economy.

This has been my full time job for over a decade now. It's something that I used to have loads of fun doing, and was very happy to be earning cash here and being able to live a decent lifestyle on my earnings. And I am forever grateful to have had such an opportunity... from IMVU, from customers, derivers, models, supporters, ect.. Each and every one of you in your own ways has helped make that possible for me... And I have accomplished more than I ever thought I could.

That said, some of you may have noticed in the past few months, my activity on IMVU has been becoming less of a priority. I have been involved in starting a new company and designing real life products for that. The company is still in it's baby stages at this point, but my passion and interests have moved over that way.

I thought I would juggle doing both for awhile, but I've not really been able to get this announcement off my mind. The level of disrespect that this place has, not only for it's creators, but the users who spend cash on here is unreal. I'm one of the creators, who over the years, has never threatened to leave IMVU due to any change they've made. I've always been willing to swim upstream with every change we've encountered here. But all I can think now, is that IMVU is trying to milk everyone for as much cash as they can before they go under. And believe me when I say that I hope that I am wrong on this. I really do hope that IMVU bounces back and things become good again. But for the first time, I truly can't see that happening.

For now, I will leave the group as it is. I will finish out any contests and gift threads, ect that are currently running. But no new contests will be posted from me. If I choose to dev, I mayyy post more for modeling, but that is it for now.

Going forward, there will also be no sponsors. I plan to change the Soap Box soon, to provide links to those shops who have been so supportive of this group, but they will no longer be paying sponsors. Any credits that are owed to sponsors will be paid back shortly.

For anyone who would like to run a modeling or contest thread, please feel free to contact me. If I know you as a trustworthy person, or a shop in good standing, I will allow you to make a post for these purposes. I feel the group is very active, and full of good people who love what they do on here, so any type of contest or modeling gig you'd like to do, I'm sure the interest will be fairly high.

For the future, I'm sure I'll have piles of credits to drop off somewhere, so I'm thinking that occasionally I will find ways for you guys to win or earn them. :P

Thank you all for everything. I'm not quitting IMVU or disappearing. I'll still be around. It's just time for me to put more focus into this next chapter of my life. 🖤
