“We’ve recently had two or three requests come in as people were changing out phases of signs,” Mayor Hillrey Adams explained last week. “Some are going to video boards or something similar. Through this process, we discovered a couple of real errors in what we had and how we were measuring signs and it resulted in folks not being able to get what they want.”

Mountain Home City Council recently voted in favor of several revisions and additions to its billboard ordinance to provide further clarity on what is actually accepted in the city limits.

Unfortunately, there’s one group you don’t want showing up to Thanksgiving dinner: the viruses and bacteria that cause foodborne illness. Mayfield was like many Kentucky communities, until four years ago. One of the worst tornado outbreaks in years ripped through the lower Midwest and into Kentucky on Dec. 10-11, 2021. Between 8:30-9 p.m. the night of Dec. 10, an EF4 tornado, with winds up to 190 mph, leveled Mayfield.

A Lake Forest Senior Living (LFSL) resident adds crosses to shoeboxes recently filled at the LFSL "packing party" for Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse. Residents, staff and guests filled 57 shoeboxes with donated items for children worldwide.

Don Buttman, Bull Shoals Lake-White River Chamber of Commerce president presented the Parks Committee with $1,300 which represented the proceeds of the inaugural Dam Jam Festival held in September.

BULL SHOALS — In a short 35-minute meeting Thursday, Bull Shoals City Council passed a 2026 budget, received a $1,300 donation to the Parks Department, introduced a new police officer and approved two resolutions.

Morris was an all-state selection last year, a two-time all-conference pick, and a two-time member of the Baxter Bulletin All-Area team. The left-hander struck out 64 batters over 42 innings last season and batted .370 with 26 RBIs and 42 runs scored.
