Wow… what a day on the bay! 🐋✨
Whales everywhere — feeding alongside sea lions, a sweet mom and calf diving together, a tail throw that splashed the whole ocean, and even a corkscrew dive right in front of us. Days like this don’t feel real.
We’re blown away that these humpbacks are still hanging around so late in the season. Monterey Bay always surprises us.

Today the ocean absolutely showed off ✨ We cruised out and instantly found a frenzy—20+ humpback whales feeding, and sea lions popping up like excited little popcorn kernels 🦈🦭 The whole ocean felt alive, and our group aboard matched the energy perfectly. Good vibes, big smiles, unforgettable moments.

Thanksgiving on the water didn’t disappoint✨ Today felt like a little ocean gift — calm seas, sunny skies, several humpbacks still hanging in the bay, whales feeding with sea lions, and even a few rainbow blows lighting up the morning.

Sometimes we feel like Monterey Bay said, “Okay, Oceanic Expeditions… you want magic? HERE.”
Humpback whales are still hanging out right by the harbor — like they forgot to migrate and decided to spend the holidays with us. 😂🩵🐋
So many whales today… absolute madness in the best way.
We’ve been feeling extra grateful this year — for these wild, unbelievable animals and for YOU, our amazing community. 💙

Beautiful weather + wildlife today. We enjoyed spending quality time with 2 pods of Orcas as well as about 8 Humpback whales during our expedition.

From humpbacks to ORCAS — what a day! 🐋🖤
We started the morning with good vibes and whales alongside our awesome passengers from North Carolina…Then suddenly… we noticed a swirl of seabirds going wild in the distance. Our crew looked closer, hearts racing — and there it was — a massive 6-foot dorsal fin slicing through the water. No doubt about it… Orcas!
A pod of killer whales right in front of us, hunting and sharing a meal (and yes, that sweet smell of the ocean “hot syrup” — that’s the scent of blubber, a sure sign of orcas nearby!).
From humpbacks to orcas, smiles to splashes — what an unforgettable adventure for our passengers who just crushed the Monterey Half Marathon! 🏅🐬

Today was nothing short of amazing! We had plenty of humpback whales showing off around us, but the real highlight was a massive pod of Risso’s dolphins racing through the water. These incredible animals are squid specialists — masters of the deep who thrive in our underwater canyon, the same place where giant squid (yep, the famous calamari) live! 🍤 Turns out, we’re not so different from dolphins after all… we both love the same treats!
Ever wonder why Risso’s dolphins have so many scars on their bodies? (Hint: those squid don’t give up easily 🦑😉).

Ruffles is one of the most entertaining Humpbacks we’ve ever seen. We’ve had several awesome celebrity whales here over the years and this one keeps us coming back for more. If you haven’t seen this whale and all his buddies, you gotta check em out.

Sunrise magic today ✨ The bay came alive with humpbacks breaching in golden light, Risso’s dolphins cruising by, playful bottlenose dolphins, and even a sleek blue shark gliding beneath the surface! 🌊🐋 Every moment felt straight out of a dream.
