GRANT COUNTY DISTRICT COURT ANNOUNCES TEMPORARY SERVICE MODIFICATIONS DUE TO STATEWIDE SYSTEM OUTAGE

The Grant County District Court is experiencing service interruptions due to unauthorized activity detected on the Washington Courts network. The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) has taken immediate action to secure critical systems and is actively working to safely restore services.

During this period of limited system access, the Grant County District Court will continue to serve the public with modified operations. We appreciate the public's patience and understanding as we work to maintain essential services while protecting the integrity of court records and systems.

AVAILABLE SERVICES:
• In-person filing of paper documents which are unable to be processed until normal operations resume
• Access to physical court records maintained in our office

TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE SERVICES:
• Payment Processing
• Access to case information maintained in our case management system

WHAT THE PUBLIC SHOULD KNOW:
• Refer to the attached Administrative Order No. 24-01 for details regarding court operations.
• The office remains open during regular business hours (subject to change)
• All inquiries regarding the system outage, security measures, timeline for restoration, or statewide impact should be directed to the Administrative Office of the Courts.
• For updates about the system status, please visit the Administrative Office of the Courts page at facebook.com/WashingtonCourts
• We anticipate these service modifications will remain in effect throughout this week.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office sends its sympathies and wishes for peace to Richard Smith’s family and loved ones. They have endured a very difficult past nine days.

Today, we are thanking people from our community and from outside of our community for their assistance and offers of help in the search for Richard Smith.

We also want to recognize diver Corey Cooper and his colleagues who traveled from western Washington and spent several hours over two days searching the reservoir. We also want to recognize Devon Carroll and Josh Cantu from Oregon Rescue Divers for their help with this search.

Those acts of kindness show us how well people can come together and support each other during emergencies.

Everything so far points to Richard Smith's death being a tragic accident.
