This set of the Mule Reducks radio show is a Tribute to Gabe Smith who passed away in Viet Nam during the first weekend in November. There’s a four minute verbal tribute to Gabe at the beginning followed by nearly two and a half hours of songs by bands and solo artists that Gabe brought to the Bayou while he was running the house venue in Moscow, Idaho from 2017 to 2025. There’s songs from Gabe’s bands Hallowed Oak and N**e Dude, and songs from sibling Hannah’s projects Okay Okay and Food Water Shelter. There’s also part of a phone interview with Gabe from when he came stateside for a short N**e Dude tour in 2023. I know I missed a lot, because the list of Bayou gigs during those years is immense (see list). Through the Bayou, Gabe provided the majority of fun in my life between 2017 and 2021, and he provided space for an awesome music scene to thrive. His impact on me and others has brought lifelong benefits and he’ll be missed. –Leigh Robartes

On Sundays from 9-10 a.m., we will no longer play From the Vault. Instead, we will be broadcasting Community Report, a news hub for local news. Supported by Pacifica Network stations around the country.
